From all the uses that my photography has for me, the first useful contact came to me in the form of scientific support. It seems like only yesterday when the professor of anatomy first showed us the human body. It was like discovering a new universe: so many bones, so many muscles, so many blood vessels, so many nerves, so many organs. continue reading

On 20th March i ran out from work for shooting the solar eclipse. Boss i'll be back in 2 hours. But, i have a little problem, i don't have a ND filter, I searched on google "How to shoot a Solar Eclipse, or something like that" and i find out i can use a floppy disk. Lucky me, we have a lots of them in office, we use it till 2, 3 years ago.So with my floppy disk for filter and very cloudy sky i ran out from work to shoot the solar eclipse, in 2 hours I hope to photograph something. After several... continue reading
This morning I photographed the Solar Eclipse.Weather conditions were far from perfect, however I managed to get a couple of reasonable shots through small gaps in the clouds.Unfortunately, I did not get any shots at the time of maximum occlusion, the thick cloud cover was total during full occlusion. The maximum occlusion would have given about 95% coverage of the solar disc from where I live, in the north of the United Kingdom.Anyway, here are my images...........not brilliant, but not... continue reading
Hello!I want to share my joy with you - after a massive uploads and rejects, 3 of my works are accepted :)unfortunately, looks like all my photos with canon a95 powershot camera not compliance technically with this site standarts, as so no one of that works is accepted ( it is sadly, because most of my pics is taken with "mobile and everyday" compact, and some of that, i think, in the artistic value, is ok. but, what do...from now i try to use dslr more hardy ;)PS try tolearning to photoediting... continue reading
Six months ago HERE IN MY BLOG I told you on total lunar eclipse that happened on June 15, 2011.Now I would like to tell you that this Saturday, December 10th, total lunar eclipse will take place, again! All the information can be found IN WIKIPEDIA. Those of us who are located in South America or Antarctica (heh-heh, is there somebody from Antarctica here on DT? :-) ) have no chances to see the eclipse. Others may be lucky (if the sky will be clear of clouds). Here are a couple of useful... continue reading
I would like to put your attention, colleagues, to very interesting astronomical up-coming event: the total moon eclipse that will take place in a week, on June 15 2011. The Sun, Earth, and Moon will be aligned exactly with the Earth in the middle, so the Earth's shadow will fall onto the Moon.I saw such events several times in my life and should tell you: it looks great. The full moon gradually becoms red like ruby. I am going to take some photos using my 5'' scope. Perhaps someone of you will... continue reading
Noctilucent (mesospheric) clouds represent especial kind of athmospheric phenomena. In contrast to 'normal' clouds they are located in upper atmosphere (mesosphere) at altitudes about 80 kilometers, which is almost space. Noctilucent clouds can be visible in a deep twilight in the summer months at latitudes between 50° and 70° north and south. But it's extremely rare phenomenon and even at these latitudes they appear 2-3 times per summer only (in the best case). Being amateur astronomer for 35 years... continue reading
Hi all! It has been extremly busy spring time for me. Not only I have taken many new photos outside in nature, not only I have studied my new Adobe Photoshop CS5, I have also made the last revisions of the manuscrips "Zodiac Kids".I and together with my friend from California Richard Brookes have written a fantasy book "Zodiac Kids".Lit. agencies in UK hesitated as we are a couple of writers, and what more from two different continents and so there should be needed a special contract. A few years ago, as an aspiring photographer, I read an article on how to photograph star trails. The images of star trails in that article intrigued me.Fairly recently, I purchased a digital SLR camera. Remembering the star trails pictures I had seen years before, I decided to give it a try. It was a clear, moonless night. I started the exposure around 10:30 PM. Finally, when I decided to end it, the results were amazing! Even though I stayed up past midnight experimenting, my excitement kept me... continue reading
