Photography - the first contact

From all the uses that my photography has for me, the first useful contact came to me in the form of scientific support. It seems like only yesterday when the professor of anatomy first showed us the human body. It was like discovering a new universe: so many bones, so many muscles, so many blood vessels, so many nerves, so many organs.Imagine that you need to explain to a 10-year-old child the human body without the help of a picture. Pretty tough, huh? Then try with the component of a cell.Then... continue reading

Boss i'll be back in 2 hours. But, i have a little problem, i don't have a ND filter, I searched on google "How to shoot a Solar Eclipse, or something like that" and i find out i can use a floppy disk. Solar Eclipse - 20th March 2015

This morning I photographed the Solar Eclipse.Weather conditions were far from perfect, however I managed to get a couple of reasonable shots through small gaps in the clouds.Unfortunately, I did not get any shots at the time of maximum occlusion, the thick cloud cover was total during full occlusion. The maximum occlusion would have given about 95% coverage of the solar disc from where I live, in the north of the United Kingdom.Anyway, here are my images...........not brilliant, but not... continue reading

Clip art on Astronomy and PhotoShop plugins

Today 3 new images have been approved (3 from 3). Here they are:I plan to continue this work using PhotoSHop and very effective sets of plugins. The total Moon eclipse on June 15 2011 - do not miss!!!

I would like to put your attention, colleagues, to very interesting astronomical up-coming event: the total moon eclipse that will take place in a week, on June 15 2011. The full moon gradually becoms red like ruby. I am going to take some photos using my 5'' scope. Perhaps someone of you will... continue reading

Shooting noctilucent clouds...

Noctilucent (mesospheric) clouds represent especial kind of athmospheric phenomena. In contrast to 'normal' clouds they are located in upper atmosphere (mesosphere) at altitudes about 80 kilometers, which is almost space. Noctilucent clouds can be visible in a deep twilight in the summer months at latitudes between 50° and 70° north and south. But it's extremely rare phenomenon and even at these latitudes they appear 2-3 times per summer only (in the best case). Being amateur astronomer for 35 years... continue reading
