At Last!

At last, after many attempts at flower submissions I have finally had one accpeted. I was starting to believe that in order for one of my flower images to be accepted it would have to be of ed's choice standard, and although it was not, I am happy to see one of them online and can now go forth in confidence again and take some more of flowers...:0) continue reading

First attempt with light tent...

Hi there,Well I've had a couple of images accepted from my first attempt with a light tent so I am quite pleased.I mostly take shots of landscapes and nature but I thought I would give something new a try.I bought a very cheap light tent and lights so I wasn't sure that my set up would be good enough but the end results weren't too bad.I found it quite difficult to get the correct white balance and I think this would be improved if I invest in some proper light bulbs...the ones I was using... continue reading

Second look

What I really enjoy doing is taking a second look at a batch of photos brought from a session. I am usually quite eager to process most of them right away, but, when time is short, or I pick some shots of which I think they 'stand out', I sometimes omit processing some. And then, after some weeks, when the eye is fresh, those omitted ones can prove quite good. In my portfolio there are numerous photos (already downloaded on DT) which are those 'second looks'.My advice is: go back to your archives... continue reading
