The legend of Mount Agung - the volcano that closed down Bali

When someone says Bali, you will instantly see white sand beaches, laid back backpackers, tanned tourists and locals mingling, fresh produce and tasty cocktails, but paradise comes with a footnote. Mount Agung, or Gunung Agung, guards over the island of Bali, Indonesia like a sleeping giant. Standing at 3,031 m (9,944 ft) it's the highest point on the island, and it has a strong influence on the weather patterns, especially rainfall. As it turns out, the sleeping giant has... continue reading

The piece of Bali

I´ve said many times that my opinion about Bali island was changed after one year when I was living there. Before that I was just a typical tourist and I used to think only about beaches, parties and temples. But now I can say that Bali is more than that. See these pictures - what do you think? Do you agree with me? :)           continue reading

Balinese Perang Api Ritual

I tried many times to upload this picture, but every time was refused. Finally they´ve approved it. :) I´m so happy, because that night was one of the most interesting nights in my life and also I really like this picture. Balinese people are throwing burning coconuts to each other. I tried it with them. It´s not so nice, because it hurts and your clothes will be burned after that, but if you will go to Bali in March, try it! :) And also here is some pictures with new sales:  ... continue reading

Indonesian nature

Just a few pictures from my favorite country... This is one of the best beaches in Bali... Just my opinion. We call it "secred beach" and there is not so many people who knows about this place. And this ship wreck is also interesting. What do you think? :) Hm, typical view in Gili Air, between Bali and Lombok. It´s quite touristic place, so I don´t like it so much, but I love this picture, because if I feel cold or sad in Czech Republic, I just look at this and I know that somewhere... continue reading

I miss my Indonesia!

After one year when I was living in Bali and travelling around all archipelago I´m sitting in my flat in Brno, outside is 5°C and I´m thinking about my dear Indonesia. And I decided to write few words about photos which I love so much. My photos, to be clear.1. Last February I visited Sumba which is my favorite island (I went there after four years and I was almost crying... because this island is place, where I want live). I met my local friend Dany and together we visited festival Pasola.... continue reading

Beautiful Bali...another awesome trip

My husband was eager to visit a live volcano and hence the plan was to visit Mount Bromo at Indonesia. Well, as usual I am no extra brave like some of the super girls ;) but as he insisted, I made the plan with a little twist! Since 14th Feb is our marriage anniversary I wanted to hop at Bali on that day instead of visiting Bromo directly. And look at our fate. Mount Kelud which is very near to Bromo erupted on 14th Feb itself covering an area of about 500 kilometres (310 mi) in diameter with volcanic... continue reading

200 OL

No, not Office Ladies, that would be way too greedy, I'd settle for one, so long as she was attractive. :)200 photos online. Boy am I slow! But I'm easily distracted, especially in the work place, I mean distracted by my work not by my colleagues. Anyway, slow and steady it is then, it's not making me a fortune, but the additional income is always welcome. Time to plug my photos, here are the last 5.....and here is a blog written many moons ago on my first one hundred. WON-... continue reading

World tennis comes to Bali

The impressively named Tournament of Champions is the last WTA tennis tournament of 2010. The event is being held indoors at the Bali International Convention Centre, which during the rainy season is a very wise move.Initially, I pondered whether I should attend or not. Over the summer I upgraded my camera, but still have no lenses other than the standard 18-55mm lens, which is surprisingly good for a kit lens. However, not the lens generally needed for an event like this. The camera has a... continue reading

Now I like Subs

Well I like them today anyway. I currently have 141 images online. Can you imagine my surprise in getting 8 sales in one day? All of them subscription sales and all of them images of Bali. I can assume it's the same buyer, but you never know. That puts me on 14 sales for the month and we're only half way through it.Anyway here are the 8 sales. Fine choice, even though I say so myself hehe. continue reading
