Daydreaming about hot air balloons

Time to capture lights in Thailand

Loy Krathong festival or Yipeng is a full moon celebration in November. “Loy” means"to float" and a "Krathong" is traditionally made from a section of banana tree trunk and leaf form as a bowl contains candle, joss stick and flowers. This is full of hot air

Every year, during the last week of January, the Swiss alpine village of Chateau d'Oex (pronounced "day") organizes a Hot-Air Ballooning event with hundreds of colorful balloons participating from many countries. Rides unfortunately costs a bomb.These were shot with a 70-200 mm f/2.8 L IS and 24-70 mm f/2.8 L. The two best lenses that any Canon owner can have. continue reading

Albuquerque or Bust….. ROAD TRIP

We love to travel and we love hot air balloons. There is a local ballooning festival called Freedom Weekend Aloft. Great chance fore some photos. We go almost every year. But not next year.We are saving up all the cash we can , because we are planning on going to Albuquerque NM in October to the biggest ballooning festival in the USA. We will also be celebrating our 25th wedding ann. at the same time.We hope to make the entire trip at least three weeks, so we can see more of the country.... continue reading
