'How' is important more than in 'What' Being a novice stock photographer we have may face many problems as economically, lack of proper device and equipment and so on as we are new to stock photography. But according to my point of view being a budding photographer we shouldn’t blame our situation. I like to remember a famous line given to a novice. That is, ‘start with what you have, where are you and do what you can’. This is golden rule to become... continue reading

Except for some early childhood experiments with MS Paint, I never tried illustrating and creative designing seriously until recently. I got a "job" from myself that required me to put as much effort into it as possible. Having no extra money, I had to make my own book cover. I knew I had the creativity, maybe even a basic skill, but no experience. So how should one get started?I will guide you through the steps based on my example:1. Know what you wantThis is easier than it sounds, you... continue reading
I hadn’t given much thought to stock photography or micro-stock photography because as a photography enthusiast I thought it was an area where only the Pros got to hang out and get paid a lot. I’ve since changed my tune. When I received a few inquiries on my Instagram (@thisgirlwithcamera) asking whether I sold my images. My initial reaction was, “What? Really? It's been almost two weeks since I made my first upload and I have 14 approved photos. With an approval rating of 100%! Which in some ways is fantastic, but in other ways it will make that first rejection much more powerful. I am very particular about the quality of my work, which I think translates into that statistic.I have only uploaded about half the number of photos that I intended to in this time. But they have all been the ones I am most proud of out of each session and hopefully that will... continue reading
I'm just starting out. I've made exactly $4.47 from selling stock photography so far. Alas, none of that is on Dreamstime. Apparently the search algorithms on other sites are more favorable to me than this one. I'm not quitting my day job.I started out by simply uploading my best photos. I didn't take those photos for stock photography. I took them as a hobby. My hobby is hiking in the mountains, mostly in California, and finding and identifying wildflowers. I don't think it will shock anyone... continue reading
