Monday, 10:35 AM - As I came up to the pond where I regularly go birding, this gorgeous Great Blue Heron was perched upon a duck breeding box at the far end of the pond. Normally, he is too skittish to sit out on the open pond so close to buildings. I knew he probably wouldn’t sit there long, and if I was patient, I might get a flight shot as he took to the air. My hope was that when this heron left his perch, he’d fly to a nearby pond behind me. So I positioned myself in the shade right in the... continue reading

Vary your lenses to take in the complete picture...Because wild critters are my passion, the long lens tends to stay on the front of my camera. On a recent vacation to a treehouse cabin in Waynesville, North Carolina (see the photo journal here), I sat on the patio every morning and afternoon with my 600 mm lens hoping to photograph some Life Birds. But one morning as I watched down the mountainside and into the valley below, I wrote in my journal, “The landscape before me constantly... continue reading
Within walking distance of my office are several ponds and beaver swamps. This gives me plenty of wildlife and bird photography opportunities without travel expenses! When I’m not too busy, I try to talk a walk every morning and occasional afternoons. With all the spring and early summer rains falling, the briars and undergrowth have really taken off, making it a bit more difficult to get close to some of those more secluded spots. In a moment of inspiration, I decided to keep a pair of branch trimmers... continue reading
I took this picture of a beautiful sunset last fall in 2017, the orange and blue colors caught my eyes and was a must have to share with everyone. Natural everyday images can be background abstracts without even the need of editing them, I left these pictures untouched and letting them be able to show there own realness and quality. This second picture is the same day as the fist just a little later in the day and has its own orange and blue abstract background feel to it as well. This third and... continue reading

Adorable... continue reading
These summer flowers are often found in our region. They are called lilacs. Their color and variety is impressive. To highlight their delicate color I made a photo on a white background and added some seeds of dandelions. The seeds of dandelion symbolize and associate ease so easily flying in the wind. Combination of this realized a certain picture - as if the flowers lie under a light blanket. continue reading
In the last few days I have allowed myself a bit of experimenting with light. I found a beautiful room with a nice blue and red light. I took a picture and then released photoshop. And it sent me some great photos of what I called starry or. So it could be used as a blue fire. Or, like something mysterious, it's a science fiction background. But I'll leave it to your decision and your imagination. continue reading
