The story behind my latest sell

Almost exactly 3 years after I've taken this photo, someone bought it: I remember the day well, I was with my friends, juts walking, talking, no shopping, no destiny, no hurry. Just catching up, enjoying the unique view, the perfect weather. I still can feel the breeze on my skin. The reconstruction works on the Redoute (Pesti Vigadó) just finished, and at the opposite site of the Danube there she was, that beautiful Castle of Buda, with those perfect clouds. Of course I had to take a few... continue reading

Lights out or bye bye photography

We made plans to go on a trip. We decided the date for late May, early June. Then we started dreaming. I used to dream of relaxation (people see me as a lazy person, therefore i dream about free time) and she was dreaming of traveling. This image is not part of my dream or hers. I still have trouble taking a photo while sleeping.Others might get luckier. Should someone find a way to photodream or maybe dreamphoto, please send a reply!Besides being lazy, I am very anxious. It is now already... continue reading

Out in the city with a new toy!

I wrote about some of my plans for a visit to Budapest a couple of weeks ago and was happy to see that 11 out of my 12 images were accepted over the last few days.I do not get out in the cit and shoot architecture very often as I live in the middle of nowhere but did learn some new things and also got a chance to put my new toy into action!TimingBudapest is a beautiful city day or night but as in all cities it does have its ugly side, at night it is dealt with by dramatically lighting the... continue reading

Exposure Blending

I took a trip to Budapest last week with a view to taking some architectural pictures, I do not take photographs like this very often and when I do I usually struggle greatly with the management of dynamic range.I decided to bracket off all of my architectural shots with a view of trying to get some natural looking HDR photographs using Photomatix, again my results using tone mapping have been fairly inconclusive to say the least.Hunagrian parliamentBut using the exposure blending function... continue reading

Hungary's spotlight - National Gallop different view

Some of you maybe remember to an old post by me about new traditional event of Hungary, the National Gallop on Heroes' Square, heart of Budapest. Well, this year I was able to see it from different angle and perspective - I took out a photo pass for VIP sector, not only behind scenes, but into stables, too.It was really full with fun for me, as a non-professional! On first day (Saturday), staff was really nice and helpful when recognized my pass. I started early on that morning, around 9... continue reading

Budapest landmarks collection

Hi ;)Last month I was for a day in Budapest, Hungary. It's a very beautiful city on the river Danube. Especially I liked the bridges, the Parliament, Fisherman's Bastion and thermal spa places.I wasn't too lucky with weather - it snowed all day and the sky was mostly grey with no sun or even clouds. But closer to the evening it became a bit better and I managed to take few shots, which were approved here and (which is especially pleasant) already began to sell. The pictures... continue reading
