Too typical, kitsch?

Winter 2013 in the Picos de Europa, Castilla y Leon (Spain), we had a nice snowfall at the hides of Wild Watching Spain and the passerine species coming to the feeders were the dream of a wildlife photographer. Bullfinches were also present, beautiful males and females on the snow and when the hide keeper added some red berry bushes to the scene the whole thing got dangerously near to what you would like to call "kitsch", this german word which doesn't seem to have a decent translation so far but... continue reading

All Aboard!

Living in an interesting neighborhood can be exciting, because it is always changing by having very creative people come together to make a rundown community into a desired place to be! Although the events and the people that helped create them have, for the most part, come and gone, new creators evolve and keep our area active with crafters and farmers gathering on one day a week to share their art and bounty to locals and tourist. This Captain of a ferryboat, no longer in the... continue reading

One picture short story.

Some pictures have interesting stories. This one may be interesting for dreamstimers. It was before last Christmas. I heard a sound of a strong blow in my window. Coming out I found a bullfinch lying in front of the window in the snow without showing any indication being alive. It was very cold outside, some 35 degrees below zero Centigrade.I took him in to the house. The bullfinch didn't move, the eyes were closed.
