Photographic whereabouts in California

I always liked to travel, to revisited old places and to see the change in people and nature. It’s like reading the same book and notice every time something new or just a bent page. Although I was in California many times, my camera missed some of the most important places that one can visit … Well, not this time… this time I will see them all. Yosemite National Park is one of the most spectacular places in North America, hiding in the heart of Sierra Nevada mountains, home of the highest... continue reading

Point Lobos Preserved For Posterity

Point Lobos is a pristine locale on the Big Sur Coast of California a few minutes south of world-famous Carmel-by-the-Sea.Point Lobos includes the Point Lobos Natural Reserve as well as two adjoining federally protected marine environments: The Point Lobos State Marine Reserve and Point Lobos State Marine Conservation Area.If not for the foresight of engineer Alexander Allen, who purchased a large parcel of Point Lobos in 1933, it would have been subdivided and ruined for posterity,... continue reading

Photographing the California Coastline

Since moving to California seven years ago it has been my mission to visit as much of the coastline as possible.“Every weekend’s a vacation!”My love for the beach, the ocean, the birds and fish that live there, the flowers and plants that grow there, and the sun that rises and sets there, has enticed me to walk barefoot in the sand, splash in the waves, share my picnic with the birds, relax with the yellow and orange skies, and to stop and smell the roses. But to be able to capture it all... continue reading

Low exposure

I am recently feeling a little bit frustrated by the extremely low exposure of my photos (Portfolio exposure:0.05%; Database exposure:0.01%). I have 261 photos so far and have been here fore a little more than one year. However, I have only two sales. Luckily, the only two sales are from the California Sunset photos that I love. I recently moved to California and I have never seen such beautiful sunset before in my life.I am a huge fan of California Sunset and I want to share my photos with others.... continue reading

A Day in the Life of Photojournalist

My first official assignment as a freelance photojournalist (June 26th, 2016) began fairly calmly--on a nice, Sunday morning--simply shooting photos of a rally and counter-protest at the California State Capitol Building, in Sacramento. The sky was clear and there was a light breeze rustling the mature trees on the Capitol lawn as I stood across the street--cameras harnessed and press credentials hanging around my neck--eating a PB&J and wondering if this assignment was going to be worth the gas... continue reading

The Ralston Trail Hike

When I started on this hike with my friend, I was determined to get up to the top. Well, he did not come prepared so I had to compensate. And, a lot of things happened on the way up, but suffice to say, I did not get to the vista point due to the fact that this lady gave me the wrong directions and, the hike was too hard for my friend. I actually ended up hiking a mile uphill more than I needed to.We ended up getting rescued by the El Dorado County Search and Rescue teams. We ended up getting rescued... continue reading

I love Alcatraz

It was really nice to be able to photograph this Island in the fog. Alcatraz as I remember when I was little, was exciting for me to get on a boat, and go visit the island with my sister. There I'd so much history behind this Island.I think most of us take our freedoms for granted and, when you go visit a jail or prison you really learn to appreciate what lot of people don't have. But in particular, I just love the way this island photo turned out in the fog, because it makes such a pretty setting.... continue reading
