Newer camera but more noise

I recently upgraded my venerable Panasonic GH1 m43 camera with a newer one, the GH3 which was on sale. There is a GH4 out and also a GX8 and G7but there are only small improvements in the field of stills. So I went for the GH3 which is supposedly a more professional camera with more buttons and weather sealing.I am happy in general with the new camera, more features, better focusing modes, faster etc. There is one thing I never thought will show up. The GH3 is more noisy. Let me explain. The... continue reading

It's better to invest in camera bodies or lenses?

Especially among younger photographers I seem to see a buying spree of megapixels: trying the camera with the most megapixels, and it is believed that they alone can guarantee to get good photos. Otherwise there is a search for the latest model, the camera straight out, the ultimate body. But in the world of microstock, more than ever, this trend (especially for beginners) can be deleterious. In a year - but also in only six months - the new camera body will be obsolete; there will be a new... continue reading

Why you should choose a mirrorless for your microstock activity?

As many people, I have been skeptical of the mirrorlesscamera, but now I had to think again on this issue. But because today those who work in microstock photography should buy a mirrorless?   Many photographers have told me that the best camera is the one you have at the time you need to take a picture. And mirrorless cameras have a huge advantage: they are small, light and compact.   This means that the camera kit (a camera body, two or three lenses, memory cards and a mini-... continue reading

Falling in Love with Youuuu.....

After 20 years I must confess: I do LOVE this City. I have been here 5 times. It happened once in every 4 years...just by chance. I have already started joking: As if to Olympic Games:) There has been said and written so much about this City, that I can hardly add something new: The City of Light, A Moveable Feast - I suppose for everyone, who likes is it's something special. For me it's a place where I always want to return and I never have enough of it - no matter for how long I remain there. Give... continue reading

Gear Isn't Everything: Creating Art with the Camera You Have, Not....

Creating Art with the Camera You Have, Not the Camera You WantPhotographers often feel as if they’re caught in something of a rat race – the race to get the best camera, the perfect optics and thousands of dollars of accessories, equipment and editing software that will help create the best possible images. However, at a certain point, we all have to stop and think: Is it the camera or the photographer that is responsible for creating works of art? Eve Arnold answered that question... continue reading

New Camera New Capabilities New Motivation!

After 10 months with my first digital camera Lumix FZ200 I've reached the point where i am not satisfy with it's technical capabilities anymore. Any photos above ISO 200 contain a lot of noise which is limiting me to a tripod or good light conditions :) Before joining DT i had no experience with photography at all i knew that to make a picture i need to click on the button on top of camera, all the ISO and depth of field and all the rest of theory was a total unknown to me. Now i have nearly 700 files... continue reading

What's the best camera for start work with Microstock? (With answer)

Hi Girls and Guys, here I go direct to the point, but first I want to mention that most of you had heard that you should buy an entry camera and then buying new stuffs according to need you feel necessary. FORGET IT!I had spend some years with entry cameras and I had lose a lot of photos because of many issues, but mostly because of 2 things:- BAD FOCUS- NOISEThose both things could be solved if I had propper gear.I had buy prime lenses 70-200mm f2.8 and 24-70 f2.8, but I still... continue reading
