Trekking story

In the previous blog I wrote about things that make us recharge our batteries. So, here is a short story about a trekking escape that I have done recently. The most convenient (time and distance) trails are in the Bucegi Mountains, which are part of the Romanian Carpathians.  Whether by car or train, we can reach the bottom of the route in two and a half hours. This is a pretty fast way to escape to nature, leaving behind the city tumult.  So, there I was, with my friends, in Busteni... continue reading

The Dragon`s Garden from Galgaul Almasului (Gradina Zmeilor in romanian) is an ensemble of high formations, with strange figures cut in sandstone by wind and water erosion. This natural reservation site is located in the Western Carpathians (Apuseni). Young oak-trees and strange shaped formations of sandstone (from the early Miocene - 20 million years ago), with insertions of gravel and stone made this ensemble of towers with 10-12 highness. continue reading

White Carpathians

The Carpathian Mountains or Carpathians are a range of mountains forming an arc of 1500 km across Eastern Europe. Because the Carpathians has until 2544 m altitude, under the "forever" snow, you can see the winter in this mountains from october (november) to may (june), depands on altitude.Emmanuel de Martonne, the famous geographer of XIX century, said about Fagaras mountains (highest in south Carpathians) that they are Transylvanian Alps. Even they are not so higher like Alps, this ridge is... continue reading
