Fortified towns of Catalonia: Montfalco Enmurallat

Among the many fortified towns of Catalonia, Montfalco Enmurallat is one of the best conserved and spectacular ones, it is a walled town and castel with first historic references from the eleventh century and with no buildings beyond the walls. It is located in the comarca of Lleida and surrounded by vast fields with a predominance of wheat production.A very recomendable restaurant in the same center of the town allows the visitor to enjoy a memorable day submerging himself in the historic and... continue reading

Fast acceptance of images: hurrah for the editors!

Some two months ago I noticed a rather slow rhythm in the work of our editors, I used to wonder if it was coz of an unusual high amount of submitted photos , some editors being on holidays (hopefully) or not feeling well (hopefully not) or both reasons together. During this last weeks however the acceptance of my pics has gone much faster than average: 48 or less hours. The pic I am presenting to you here is an example, it was uploaded on the 8th of December and on the 11th it was already here to... continue reading

This photo was made at the Aiguamolls del Emporda nature parkin northeastern Catalonia, very near to the french border. The Bearded Vultureis a very interesting type of vulture... continue reading

Blue and green landscapes

Hi guys,Spring time, and for those of us who are lucky to live in a sunny spot of the world this is time to grab our cameras and make them an appendix of our bodies!I've lived in different places, like London. Maybe clouds and shade gave my pictures a romantic and magic look. But after two years I definitely choose sun and blue skies.I recommend you to visit Girona, one of the four cities of Catalonia. Maybe Barcelona sounds a bell for you if Catalonia means nothing in your vocabulary... continue reading
