I was uploading pictures for about a year, from 2010 until 2011. My last photo was uploaded on the 20th of October of 2011. Ever since I was completely inactive. For some reason this year I decided to log in again and see what changed. The website looked the same, the user interface looked the same. Even the contributors area which looked archaic 6 years ago was still the same(and still is). Then the current assignment at the time caught my eye. It was the WOW assignment, I submitted 5 photos I had... continue reading

Since joining Dreamstime, I've submitted photographs taken with various cameras, starting with a good old point and shoot, followed by a bridge camera and now, with a recently bought DSLR. It's a natural progression but I feel it's still, more about the subject of your photo that counts, rather than the type of camera you use. I've only used the DSLR a little but comparing the three photos, can you tell, which image was taken with which camera (without looking at the date taken of course) ... continue reading
I recently reviewed an image made few months ago. The picture was good but not enough to me, so according to the message of this photograph I decided to make the sky black and white to reinforce it.Dear fellows I encourage you to try different ways to get outstanding images because small changes can make great results. This photo was uploaded only three days ago today help me reach one hundred dollars in 25 days. continue reading
A month ago DT changed the levels of the prices per image, here it is the link where you can see these changes: Levels UpdateNow it is easier for our images to reach levels, for example before for a level 4 an image needed 25 sales, now an image only needs 10 sales. That means that we can earn more money per sale, but at the same time makes buyers look for images with less sales. So that's why I'm asking you how did you this first month with the changes?.In my case I had a drop in the number... continue reading
I just got back from a fantastic school vacation at Stowe, Vermont - cross country skiing at the Trapp Family (Sound of Music) resort, downhill at the Mt. Mansfield and snowshoeing up the Pinnacle Trail. We were treated to a nice blast of fresh powder on our last day of skiing at Stowe and it was heaven. No chattering skis on groomed ice which is a real treat this winter. While it seems like our local winter fun has just begun, else where it seems that spring has already sprung.A recent... continue reading

I've noticed a trend that seems to be taking shape for me. Instead of getting lots of smaller sales through subscriptions or just random sales, I seem to be getting fewer but bigger, higher revenue sales in recent months. This is neither a good or bad thing. It seems to mostly be averaging out to about the same as my usual mix of sales, but I just thought it was interesting.I'm wondering if it's just that my portfolio is getting older on this site, which results in more older, higher level photos... continue reading
Things seem to be simple when you see someone else's portfolio and like what you see.You think: I can do this"but in fact is very hard to do.After hours of search for inspiration we realize that we are neversatisfied with our work. How to make clean and simple ideas?I really do not know. Our mind seems to be too complex for simple things. Many times I wanted to erase everything I did and start over but, then I wondered "I'll be able to create something better than before? The answer is...we always... continue reading
