If the color of the year is your favorite color, it should mean that this will be a great year :)Pantone announced 18-3838 Ultra Violet as the Color of the Year 2018. How LOUD and bold and sensational!“The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” – Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute.Does Ultra Violet allude to people's desire... continue reading

Color me Ultra Violet

It's the news anyone with any interest in color has been waiting for this week, Pantone has selected its color of the year 2018. It's deep and it's certainly not calm, meet Ultra Violet, the star of next year's color palette. The color violet sits at the end of the visible light spectrum between blue and ultraviolet, which is invisible to the naked eye (not... continue reading

A dash of red

Approximately 10% of people answering studies claim red as their favorite color. It is a vibrant color with a powerful message. It speaks of passion, fire, religion, hate, bravery, luxury, love, blood, life, danger and the list can go on. I too like red. I could say it is my favorite color but what I actually like is the subtle red. In my opinion, less is more when it comes to red and I believe red dots, red splashes and dashes here and there are more likely to make an impression rather than an all-... continue reading

Texture of paint.

This adds even more beauty to this photo. Paint in our lives - that's what's most important. The more of them - the brighter our life! continue reading

Color, concepts and creativity

I have just passed my first milestone of having 50 photos accepted by Dreamstime and it has been an interesting journey. If you look at my portfolio of online photos you will see a great deal of variety reflecting my varying interests. But they do all have three things in common - they reflect my love for color (which I really want to spell with a 'u' being an Aussie), concepts and creativity. The color is everywhere - just look at the pic of tulips above or this photo of the tranquil blue waters... continue reading

Color management for dummies

Sorry for the title, I didn't mean to insult anyone, just wanted to get your attention. Now that I have it, let's talk about color profiles and color management.    Without going too deep into color theory or technical specifications, lets just me just say that color profiles are a tool meant to help content creators make sure their audience sees everything the same way they do. This blog will focus on digital cameras and digital images, but the same principles may apply to analog media... continue reading

Pop art experiments

How often do you have inspiration to shoot something awesome but the weather ugly and light is flat? I had exactly this situation few week ago. And it was perfect moment for new experiments. I tried himself in shooting of things. I used origami paper as background and find some things in home. In result I've made some photos in pop-art style. As for me this style will return popularity in nearest time. And what do you think about the future of pop art. continue reading
