Approximately 10% of people answering studies claim red as their favorite color. It is a vibrant color with a powerful message. It speaks of passion, fire, religion, hate, bravery, luxury, love, blood, life, danger and the list can go on. I too like red. I could say it is my favorite color but what I actually like is the subtle red. In my opinion, less is more when it comes to red and I believe red dots, red splashes and dashes here and there are more likely to make an impression rather than an all-... continue reading

Not without reason, design industries have proposed a palette of extremely bold colors for some years now. Any dull outfit and drab setting look fabulously fresh with touches of fuchsia, coral, lucite green or deep ultramarine here and there. While only fashion and interior decoration seem to have been greatly influenced by colors in the past, the new daring palette has recently liven up other industries as well - hi-tech among others. Along with fabrics and materials, cuts and designs, we keep a... continue reading
Much of the Northern Hemisphere is covered in snow this week, even places like Las Vegas that normally never see the white, icy stuff have experienced falling snow. We’ve written previously about how to create and use artificial snow but now that the real thing is right outside the window, what can you do to maximize the impact of snowy images? It’s tempting to limit winter images to simple landscapes, especially early in the day after a night of falling snow. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful... continue reading
I have just reviewed some of the most popular images as selected by our users during 2007. I’ll first discuss what I learned about illustrations and then next week the lessons from the most popular themes/images captured in photographs. Some of my findings surprised me and I hope they will inspire you to create fresh images. Fair warning though: an image may be popular for a variety of reasons that aren’t necessarily the subject, the composition or the keywords. These are the key points but by... continue reading
Or is it the CYMK? (One matters online; the other in print). Do you dream in color? Did people dream in black and white before the invention of black and white film? What moods and emotions do colorselicit?Pre-PhotoShop, manipulating color was limited to the photographer’s skill in using filters or other special effects.... continue reading

Products from plasticine - a fairy-tale character and a vase with several colors. These are my first works in this way so please do not judge strictly, but in fact I do not think that everything is so bad :) But I do not expect big sales, because none of my photos have been sold yet :(Friends tell me, tell me about your success, what and how to do it right.
