What, at the time, seemed like every single day, my 8th Grade teacher would ask, "What did John Dewey say?”And we’d all reply, in unison, “You learn what you do!”Well, today I congratulate myself on 1000 uploads. I know. I know I said uploads and not sales but still, it’s a victory... at least to me. My acceptance ratio dipped pretty low at one point, but I’d like to think that as my acceptance ratio improves so does my photography. However, I still have images get... continue reading

This week I reached a total of 500 uploads. I am extremely proud of that. As an amateur photographer it is very rewarding to meet the high quality criteria of a professional organization like Dreamstime. It is rewarding to get your pictures accepted and even more rewarding to sell them.By reading and practicing a lot, by participating in the Dreamstime community, and by trying to match my own ambitions and the preferences of the buyers, I have learned a lot. In the first year my acceptance rate... continue reading

600 photos I am sure is small potatoes for some but for me it is an accomplishment - it is very difficult to get the time to get photos online, and honestly sometimes I am just too tired. But I finally got to 600 photos online and feel good about it. I have been trying to do more conceptual work recently to add to my portfolio but will never give up good ole mother nature!I really enjoy the DT community here - what a great bunch of people and artist in one place!!This one below... continue reading
Many photographers are writing blogs about their personal milestones, so I decided to write a bit about my experiences as a stock photographer after reaching 2000 images at Dreamstime.I have been with Dreamstime since year 2000, shortly after I have switched from a film camera to a digital SLR.Initially, I was uploading to several micro stock agencies. My acceptance ratio with DT was extremely low, sometime below 10%, whereas at other agencies it was well over 50%.Even though, I had... continue reading
Today, I received my second payment from Dreamstime. It's been a gritty and rewarding journey. Like running a marathon, perseverance and determination pays off, coupled with practice and inspiration from within and without. The support and guidance from the community has been helpful; so do the people who bought the images. Thought I would like to recap the past 8+ months in my journey with Dreamstime as a contributor.18 December 2014Uploaded my 1st photo to Dreamstime - glad... continue reading
Initially it was a rough starting point like my old cars, then smoothened with rejection oil and became reasonable mechanic. Learned a few tricks here and there. Now, I am here with 200 plus images and 200 dollars check. I feel like I have achieved something with the help of this community and Dreamstime. Thanks a lot guys!More to come…… drrrrrrrrr………..Credit to my friend Venkra (Dreamstime member), who introduced me to Dreamstime. continue reading
