Micro content, this phrase that has been around so much in the past few years but nobody seems to be able to put the finger on what it actually means. Let’s give it a try too. This type of content was firstly used in a UX context, in order to describe a longer piece of content and add clarity to an interface or encourage a desired behavior, as Jakob Nielsen says.Dr. Mike Baxter describes micro content as being “the content that persuades and enables prospects to complete a transaction,... continue reading

Since the dawn of human civilization, visual representations were the first choice when people needed to narrate stories, show emotions and depict facts. There are several ancient caves that prove to us, that visual imagery was probably the first form of non-verbal communication among early representatives of our kind.Push the fast forward button and get thousands of years into the future only to realize the same things: visual representation of facts and emotions is still the number... continue reading
First of all, happy Mardi Gras! Second of all, it’s also the last day of February this year. February is the shortest month, with only 28 days even though other months have 31 days. I guess this is a good thing because it’s usually so cold. While only yesterday I could have said, “Six more weeks of winter?! Yeah, right! It’s officially the warmest February on record,” this weekend, they’re calling for snow. Given, this coming weekend is technically March, but it still begs... continue reading
What does your visual content strategy look like? A few random images on Facebook? A short video on Instagram Stories once a week? A SlideShare presentation that you created a long time ago that you republish every day?Visual content is getting a lot of attention these days because the big platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, LinkedIn and others are betting on how to create content that help you engage more. But also, according to Brain Rules, 65% of people remember a piece information if... continue reading
Some months ago I got accepted an image, which was marked with the content filter. This of course I found out later on, when I was wondering, why the image has 0 views and it is not showing in my portfolio. It was not showing, because I had by a default set Content Filter ON.Being a newbie to Dreamstime, it took me a while to find out, that reason for image not showing is done by the Content Filter. So I changed my site features and turned the Content Filter OFF. For me, I want to have a choice... continue reading
A few days ago I did a search for some new approved images of mine to see if they were in the system yet. They all came up but one.I contacted the good folks at Dreamstime to inquire and was told it had been content filtered (I have my filter on).The image was a 70 year old photograph of a man and woman (my grandfather and my mom) on their farm holding shotguns and some pheasants they had just hunted. They said all images showing dead animals were content filtered.Maybe this could be disturbing... continue reading
In the "Management Area" below the search field there is a check boxwith two little buttons called "Content Filter On/Off".When you search for photos with "Content Filter" switched to "On" allphotos which are considered by DT as "sensitive" are not shown.Per default for each account the content filter is switched to "On".Of course, what an individual considers as "sensitive" might heavily differby factors like age, background, culture, belief, gender etc.Nevertheless DT seems... continue reading
I have 9 images of a rodeo event. This image, which is the first to be approved on April 19, has no views, while the other 8 images, which were approved 2 to 4 days later, have anywhere from 11 to 26 views. Upon further investigation, I found that the content filter of this image is YES, while the other images is NO. What is content filter? and how do I turn it off? Thanks,Gary continue reading
I noticed existence of dreamstime content filtr before few weeks, when I began to upload some nude pictures and pictures from Amsterdam streets.I am not puritanical or religious, I draw naked peole at school,I take nude photos sometimes and I am tolerant andmiddle Eropean :). I visited my best friend in Amsterdam before two weeks. It was a short trip - just 4 days.Kristyna lend me a bike.
