A couple of days ago the picture below was sold. By now it has been sold 5 times. So, I started to wonder "who is interested in a picture like that?".As a contributor we know very little about the buyers (only via sales). At the same time the whole collection of searches done by buyers contains a lot of relevant information. There exist data mining algorithms that reveal that kind of information. It would be nice if contributors would know about this. It would create a win-win situation for the... continue reading

I am relatively new here at Dreamstime, and I am certainly not going to make a living on it.However I enjoy taking pictures, and am learning from my failures. The other day I was looking at my employer's external website, and noticed some really great pictures. When I saw the head of the communications department in our break room, I asked where the pictures had come from. She told me that they always get their business pictures from a site called Dreamstime, and they have an annual subscription... continue reading
After reading the blogs and message boards here for several years there is one thing that really sticks out in my mind - that is that photographer's do a lot of talking to each other, sharing information with each other, hooting and hollering, praising and complaining, about being the ups and downs of being a contributor......But precious little time is spent talking TO the buyers of our images.99% of the messages and blogs are from the contributors perspective. One of the most important... continue reading
I'm not sure how many of you entered the micro-stock business as contributors, but I first started as a customer, mainly to get images for my web design company. I always appreciated the great diversity of pictures I found in micro-stock websites and the low rates they charged for those amazing photographs. Then, I started to create my own photos for the websites I develop and now I only buy the pictures I cannot shoot myself from various reasons. But now I would like to talk a bit about the pictures... continue reading

Hello out there! Actually I wonder about where DT-customers are from. Are they mainly from USA? Or Australia? Or Europe (which country)? Maybe the DT-admins can show us a statistic, on the one hand number of buyers per country and on the other hand number of buys per country? Thanks and have a good time! continue reading
This is a subject that probably many of you still have questions about and that us, admins, would like to make more clear. Here are some general guideline about addressing messages to support:- make sure you explain your problem as thoroughly as possible and give as many details as you can. We will not be able to help you if your message is "I have a problem with uploading.";- include the possible error messages you received;- if you require priority review include all the IDs of the images... continue reading
In the earlier post from 28th May titled „My first download with EL!” I've told you that my image, which shows transition between CMYK and RGB colours, had been downloaded with EL.Just after a month from that moment I've received an information about customer refund, because of a mistake. My „big” step forward in discovering Dreamstime changed into one „big” step back. Now I can say that it was a little step forward too. It's just the other side of the coin, which realised me,... continue reading
