I have had 600 uploads accepted in just over 2 months, I have also shot all of the photos that I have uploaded in the last 2 months and have not used any that I already had taken.I have found it hard work but very rewarding, when someone takes the time to say a nice comment about a photo that I have taken it is great and when a designer buys one of my photos it is fantastic. When I started this journey a friend emailed me and said that I was wasting my time, that was like a red rag to a bull for... continue reading
I am well on the way to sorting my photos into managed collections on my photographer profile page, I hope that this will help the designers to find what they need quicker. It was actually easier to do than I though, once I had opened two browser windows at the same time and then typed in the ID numbers from my list of accepted files. My managed collections are on the right side of this page and I will be updating them often.https://www.dreamstime.com/Steveacer_info#res8462901 continue reading

I've seen several post in the boards about collages and I had a question. Would it be better to make collages of a single subject or have multiple single shots of different angles?I'm a little confused on this because I'm not sure what designers like more. Also since we're limited to the size of file we are allowed to upload, wouldn't that limit the amount or size of the images in a collage? In this respect a single image at a larger size would be better, right? If anyone knows please leave... continue reading
Dear DesignersYou are probably aware of the current issues regarding lowering cost of images, shrinking returns to photographers and the parlous state of the stock market at this time. Some are questioning that the current situation is sustainable. In a wider sense, this may or may not be correct, but dark clouds may be ahead. But please understand that Dreamstime is not one of the agencies oftenquoted as being at the heart of the problem. As far as I can see Dreamstime provides an... continue reading
I have only been with DT for a sort time and I only have 47 images online but I fell like I have had very good success for a beginner with 12 sales so far. Most of my sales came when I had a lot less images on line, about 35.With so few images I think that my diversity of images is what has given me the sales I have so far.I see some contributors like to specialize in certain types of images but that will limit your ability to sell photos to a wide variety of designers as designers are... continue reading
What are Graphic Designers and Creative Directors looking for, when it comes to the images they select? That is the ultimate question for anyone who creates stock photography, isn't it. Being a graphic designer and a creative director for almost a decade now has given me a chance to understand what a designer is looking for when they browse a site like Dreamstime looking for an image to be used in a project.First off, they are looking for something specific. That is one of the reasons it... continue reading
A lightbox is a box with a light source and a translucent cover used to view transparenices such as slides, ex-rays, negatives etc. Here at DT lightboxes are a place to group images for view at a later date, add notes, share with others and in general they are like a shopping basket. You can also use lightboxes as a tool if you are a contributor.I use them to group images (all mine)together that are similar in category or subject matter. You can add notes to each image or actually... continue reading
