"Street portraits" was the topic for Dreamstimes assignment in January 2018, inviting creative photos of everyday people that one may encounter on any one of the worlds many streets. Assignments are fun and rewarding, and for me as an interested amateur it serves to test and challenge my conceptions of quality and originality. I have previously had experiences of joy when having a picture admitted to an assignment contest, but also of disappointment when a photo did not make the cut. This... continue reading

I was lucky enough to have a day off from work a few days ago, (as this is not yet a full time job for me yet) and decide to go somewhere local with my camera and see what i could find.I went to a park in Solihull, which i had been to many times before, but never with my camera. There i discovered in the woods down a little road a beautiful little church.Yes i had seen the signs for it before but had never bothered to walk down there. However after having my first sale, i tend to take my camera... continue reading

As photographers we walk about looking at the world from a more artistic point of view.As stock photographers our view can be more varied. We see possibilities in scenes that most photographers pass by without a second glance. The problem is most of us look at our visions from one point of view...eye level.I have been guilty of this more thank I care to admit to. What if we try looking at things from a different perspective? Change our point of view. Both of these images were... continue reading
The weather in Rome was gorgeous in late October for some wonderful photography. There are so many photos available from Rome so I tried to add a few that aren't well covered. The following detail shows 1800 years of erosion. I joined DT two months ago and am on my way to reaching some goals.Merry Xmas to all my fellow DTers. continue reading

The warm yellow and gold colors and calm sea are usually in summer and autumn season. Soft pink and bluish shades are in windy or cool weather at the seaside. I like to take pictures at the Black Sea in cloudy or storm weather and photos obtained interesting and even unusual. Sea fishing at sunset is also one of the favorite themes of... continue reading

As I always have a camera with me wherever I go I am always looking for new things to shoot. Speaking to a designer gave me the idea of simple backgrounds, so now when I am out and about I find myself looking into the sky, puddles, fences and the ground more. Here are some of the results. I have put the backgrounds that I have taken so far into a managed collection here.BackgroundsOnly time will tell how much they are of use to the designers. I hope... continue reading

That's my question for now,how to get access with a dSLR into places like malls and the likes without a pass or ID?and to make it even more challenging, all this in a place where people think that photographic equipment is worse than a loaded shotgun...I never had this problem on the country side or on public events but when it comes to dealing with city folks it's a whole new story. It's not the first time when I was told to buzz off by random buyers from a PUBLIC market after taking 2... continue reading
