I have the opportunity to live in a vast country that stretches from the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans and my work will on occasion have me travel from one side to the other.A fellow worker also an avid photographer knew that I was heading to the province of Alberta in the area of Calgary and assumed that I would be going to the Banff National Park amongst the Canadian rocky mountain range, having been there in the past I knew that the province had more to offer and therefore decided to look... continue reading

A Quickie Shoot with a Household Name

Once again, my apologies for being quiet for a while.I've been spending my downtime sleeping 'cause it's been really busy the past months.Anyway, if you're from the Philippines, I'm sure you're familiar with the brand name Mama Sita.Am truly thankful that I got the rare chance to photograph the son of the woman who started this business which eventually became a household name among almost every filipino kitchen.A busy person that he is,I knew that I had to keep the shoot as quick as... continue reading

Booked Up

Writing recently about a decrease in vacation time among the world’s travelers for ’09, I have been keeping my eyes out for what the trend watchers think we will be doing in our downtime and what visual opportunities this will offer. I was surprised to learn that reading a book is gaining in popularity even as some publishers are in trouble. One publisher has launched a vid on YouTube for the Christmas season with celebrities stating why a book is a good gift. One says, “A book is a great gift... continue reading

Doodling Ideas before shooting.

As you can see from my profile, I'm relatively new at this.Up until recently, I've uploaded photos I've taken on vacation and weddings and special functions. But I figured in order to have a diverse portfolio, one must also set up or fabricate shots. It seems that the most popular photos are the ones that are set up and not just random shots during vacation.Below are a few of what I mean. What's common about these above photos are all of them are well thought out.Lighting is controlled.... continue reading

pics from our 1100 mile peace walk across scotland and england

i'm a documentary filmmaker in post production on a film we shot in the United Kingdom called Peace Walker. It was shot over the course of a real 1100 mile walk from the north of Scotland( a very small place called John Ogroats) to Land's End England, on the Cornwall coast. It was an adventure, to say the least, and we have been getting a lot of attention with our videos prior to release on the internet, with over 2 million views on You Tube. One video, mostly shot in the north of Scotland, called... continue reading

Stock Image -vs- Snapshot

For the past couple of weeks, I have been slowly editing and keywording several images before uploading them here. These were images from two different caverns, one in Virginia and one in West Virginia.I probably have about 100 photos between the two locations. Going through them, I found about 28 of which I deemed great! They were, to me, unique shots of interesting formations within the caverns. I thought to myself that these will definately be accepted! After uploading these images, I endured... continue reading
