We're back from this year's CEPIC conference and after gathering the notes and observations made there, we've put together this article to give you a general idea of what went on in Dublin. This year, more than ever, microstock was under the spotlight. Many advocated it as the future, others argued the revenue and a few proved even skeptical about it. In the midst of all debates, the general feeling was that the power of the community, the variety of content and the broad price range... continue reading

Dreamstime coffee lounge

I know what you will say "Oh, no, not another metablog". :P. I have thought for a very long time to write a basic guide about blog, what to write, when to write, how to write. But then, who am I to set the rules? And being member of the Admin., my words may be taken as rule/law by which to abide...That is not and should not be the case. I am a very keen and skillful literary critic - so my professors said - but this does not make me an expert in blogging. This would make me a harsh judge of your discourse... continue reading

My Dreamstime Career. Tips for beginners

I think the passion for photography I got from my dad, who took pictures of us with a black and white camera. When I bought my first PC it came with the fever of editing.I tried different programs, but for me, love at first glance was Adobe Photoshop. I had to learn how to use it and it took me a while, but finally I succeeded. In April 2016 I watched a blog of a famous photographer in Romania. He was explaining people how to make money from edited pictures uploaded on Dreamstime.... continue reading

My first year on Dreamstime as a new photogrpaher and and I've realised just how quickly the time passes! Every photographer who ever sold an image knows that the key to a buyer's heart (and wallet) is uploading exactly what they need; and the key to being truly successful is catering for the taste of many.More than a decade of Dreamstime has passed, millions of images were uploaded and, millions of image were sold. What follows is a chronology in pictures.2006 - it was all about business and teams back then, we all remember the brainstorming sessions, don't we?      2007 - was about family... continue reading

1000 Uploads: Reflection on Joining the Dreamstime Community

What, at the time, seemed like every single day, my 8th Grade teacher would ask, "What did John Dewey say?”And we’d all reply, in unison, “You learn what you do!”Well, today I congratulate myself on 1000 uploads. I know. I know I said uploads and not sales but still, it’s a victory... at least to me. My acceptance ratio dipped pretty low at one point, but I’d like to think that as my acceptance ratio improves so does my photography. However, I still have images get... continue reading
