This is my first foray into writing a blog for Dreamstime....I've been a contributor to Dreamstime for some time, starting back when there were less than 1 million images online (seems like ages ago!).At the time, I had discovered the Dreamstime site while looking for inexpensive, quality stock images, thenlater decided to try my hand at contributing a few myself. At first, I submitted a few vacation photographs, captured with a little "point and shoot" camera (which... continue reading

Hi everyone, since I am a Dreamstimer I submitted a lot of my dog photography with tips on how to take decent shots on non cooperative models such as dogs... and I have to say, each refusal note was teaching me to perform better shots me too... This was one of my first, but on adult dogs it's easier: they're teached to stay and more collaborative. With puppies it's a real nightmare! If they stay, then you have a lie-down image that is not more different from a million similar ones,... continue reading
Zoo in Novosibirsk - one of the biggest sights of Siberian region. It has not only "traditional" animals (like lions, predatory birds, swimming birds, white bears) but also seaquarium. And squirrels, ground-squirrel walking free, in summer - the most dangerous vulture - mosquitos continue reading
Everyone has a season they love the most, and normally I would say for me its Autumn.. however I have really had a beautiful summer with many adorable models, and the photo explosion has given me 5 entries into the Dreamstime assignment contest this month!Although I would love to be a winner in the contest, any image that gets chosen is already a winner as it gives you a level 5 image and gets you better placement. Does this really help? Well out of my last 20 sales, 10 of the sales were actually... continue reading
So it's Sunday today and I went out and shot a lot of images yesterday so I'm kind of chilling today pouring over my images and thought wow its been a very long time since I blogged, so upon sitting down in front of my computer I pondered what to blog about.... hmmm.... I could write about how its been three years since I joined Dreamstime and what my experiences have been, but then I thought nawl thats been done plenty and would just be plain boring to read, and then I thought hey write about how... continue reading
I just wanted to say hi everyone. I'm quite new to this whole stock photo thing but I'm looking to hit it running.I've always enjoyed taking photos; one of my proud moments was buying my first 35mm SLR. Not log after that; in the late 90's; I got my first digital camera, a 1.33MP Casio. I thought it was fantastic that I could take an image; then review and delete if no good.. Though I remember that the 4xAA batteries did not last more that 100 images.Since then I had many point and shoot cameras... continue reading
A recent blog visit to a new photographers thoughts brought this subject to mind. When I was a beginning photographer many years ago a talented and very open minded professional photographer took me under his wing.He taught me everything he knew, creating his own competition.Eventually I moved from the area and his business returned.Several years ago, I found this site, joined and found a new mentor. When I joined here, the site was new, but grew quickly.I found many great photographers,... continue reading
I have an account with Dreamstime since 2008. It is a long time and I don't have many photos to show for it.I love taking photos. It serves as a record of places I have visited and people I met. So I thought why not sign up and see if I can make some sales from something I love. I went through my collection and this photo of a lotus flower with a couple of bees was the first photo I uploaded. That was in August 2008. It was the one and only for a long time as I got busy looking after my... continue reading
