When my dad was two and a half years old, he and his twin brother climbed up into his dad’s car and was messing around with various knobs and levers. He found an interesting button on the dashboard and he pushed it. It ended up that this was the starter button. The car would turn over but it wouldn’t start without the key turned on but the car would move. He ended up moving the car out of the driveway and into the middle of the street. continue reading

When my grandpa Len was a young man, he had a job driving a truck. This wasn’t just any job, this truck hauled ice off of a frozen Medicine Lake, and he was an ice road trucker. Grandpa said that he always had to drive in low gear on the lake because the truck loaded with ice pushed the ice he was driving on down a ways.Basically he was always driving up hill. This took place back in the 1930’s before they had refrigerators. To keep food cool they had ice boxes. In the wintertime men... continue reading
I may very well be lazy. Probably I am. My ears keep hearing silent screams: Get out out of the brick jungle! So i do! i finally do get out.It is Saturday afternoon. It feels chilly. I suddenly realize i am not prepared. I rush back, fetch a backpack, overfill it with clothing and.. boom out the door into my personal old, rusty 4x4. The only intermediate stop before me and freedom is a remote gas station. I decide to also buy some snack and then i hurry to the forest. That is my real first stop.... continue reading
One of my tricks for finding new places to photograph is to make a turn on some road I've never been on before and then rely on my GPS to bring me back home.Warning! This blog is inspired by a recent incident that troubled me enough to think about these lessons that fuelled me to write it down –1.A person’s personality can be judged by the way one drives the vehicle. - Anonymous2.Driving is not a difficult task, even a circus bear can do that. The right driving is knowing how and when to change the gears or make adjustments understanding the timing, the situation and your vehicle status. – My Grandpa – Mahadeo Gangavane3.Heart is just a blood... continue reading
To celebrate my (finally) 200th download I'll tell you the unusal story that happened to me yesterday. In the middle of august I was traveling from my vacation with my youngest child, alone, driving for cca. 500 km...and that makes me nervous and the worst thing: sleepy.
