Dust in Sensor

In one of my recent trips I have end up having some dust in my sensor and my attempts to clean this had caused more damage than help. I tried the local canon service center but they would not help as my EOS 350 D is too old and is no longer supported. The only option that seems left out for me is to go for a new camera. I also visited the canon store to check out some new camera, I liked Canon 5D MarkIII and Canon 6D but this is going to burn a huge hole in my pocket. I am sure this is not only going... continue reading

Imagination and Originality

Imagination and OriginalityAs the stock industry over-saturates itself with the same types of images and concepts, it will be key to come up with new ideas in order to stand out and maximize portfolio potential. But it's the difference between being a trendsetter or someone who's behind the curve and always playing catch-up.... continue reading

Beware - the dust!

Drawing a picture, I encountered a small problem. My graphic tablet started working disgusting. The cursor moves erratically and at times graphic tablet disconnected completely. I was furious after 15 minutes! Replacing the battery did not help. Reconnect to different terminals usb lead to the same result. Indicator tablet showed interruptions in the voltage usb ports. I remembered that about six months is not cleaned my computer from the accumulated dust, since dust may create a spurious connection... continue reading

Tips On Infrared Photography

Shooting infrared with digital is much different from my early black & white/darkroom days. But, in some respects is somewhat similar, because you still have a thick filter to shoot through. So a tripod is an absolute necessity if you want good, quality (noise free) images. Plants and trees are the most striking components while using infrared. Green leaves tend to reflect more of the infrared wavelengths than that of flesh or masonry. Keep that in mind, and remember that the images will come up ... continue reading

Crazy (stock) world

Today going through web I have found a company located in my country selling (better to say reselling) Dreamstime photos and pictures including pictures of exclusive DT contributors, obviously in an agreement and cooperation with DT. What is interesting is the price for these pictureswhich is considerable higher than DT prices (of course the price is in our national currency, but it is much higher even if recalculated in $). This made me thinking how much the company earns reselling our photos... continue reading

Cars and image

Just as any joke playing on stereotypes, it is a fairly bad joke. But thinking about it, I realize just how closely we relate our perception of self with material possessions and how other people see us through these possessions. And nothing demonstrate this more than the car we choose to buy or aspire to buy.Would James Bond still be considered as a dangerously seductive Casanova if he were always seen strugglingwith the gears of a Citroen 2CV?Long standing perceptions abound and persist... continue reading

Stock Image Searches Downward Trend

I was doing some research recently into the stock image market as I've been involved with it for a few years and I was interested to see if I could find any data to try and build up a picture of where it is going. One of the things I found out was the very clear downward trend on the number of searches in google for stock images.
