It snows in Athens and BOOM, Dreamstime displays images of the Roman Forum covered in snow.Barack Obama appears at a rally and we see him quickly in the news section. (We have a terrific collection of the candidates for the US Presidential nomination now.) Paris Hilton steps out on the street and a Dreamstime contributor with the best vantage point photographs her while the paparazzi look on from behind... continue reading

Grocery Store Interiors

My adventure in photography getting a bit more wider since I accepted the truth that I have the obligation of carrying a camera with me where ever I go. This is relatively freeing because I don't have to make plans to go out shooting anymore - since I have my camera with me I'm always out shooting when I go out. This makes possible to me to take photography inside of grocery stores in the small town I'm living. Best part of living in a place like this that people are (at least... continue reading

Happening street is a warehouse of stock photos

Recently I have developed a keen interest on streets. As I roam around with my fuji mirror-less and the good old 500D, the streets give me immense pleasure to shoot all the people, events happening around them, food and culture. Some beginners might feel very much shy to approach people with a camera. My genuine advise will be, just forget all worries and don't overthink, don't even use your camera at all, first mix up with the crowd, have a cup of tea with them, know them and then see the magic :... continue reading

Editorial Images

Newbees mostly avoid taking shots that have any recognizable face in it or where model release is needed. By doing this they limit their uploads, expansion and also the earnings. But I have seen many photographers on Dreamstime who are getting reasonable amount of sales from editorial images. It also opens many new doors to cover more subjects. Luckily one of my editorial image just sold for $2.20.  continue reading

Poundland

So it hit the news this morning that the South African based company Steinhoff International is to take over the British discount store Poundland. They've settled on the figure of £597m, so a bit more than just £1 :)It's a bit weird that I decided to go out and shoot the local high street the other day and took a few editorial shots of shop signs. Poundland was one of the shops I decided to photograph. Here's the image (it's vertical so you'll have to click... continue reading
