I visited Thailand in 2012. I spent 1 week in Koh Samui and one week on Koh Phangan. It is hardly necessary to say that Thailand for a European is very exotic country. Exotics is everywhere in the country even the airport of Koh Samui is the most unusual airport which I have ever seen. It is a pity that I was too tired to shoot. Monty, our 9 month old Dane really stands out in a crowd. I tend to take him to the dog park, which is quite a ride from our home...and when I say "quite a ride" I mean not only is the park two towns down the interstate from where we live, but the ride itself is...well...imagine packing 6 kids...3 car seats..one camera bag, with a magnitude of lenses, ...and a 300 pound elephant into a mini van that seats 5....and then, just for fun, let's also put in ahalf eaten peanut butter cracker.... continue reading

Kaziranga National Park stretches for about 50km along the south bank of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, North East India It covers some 472 sq km of the flood plain of this mighty river and is renowned as the main stronghold of the Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. It is also famous as a bird hotspot, with almost 500 species recorded. The elephant festival is an annual event held in Jaipur, capital of Rajasthan, India on the day before the Hindu festival of Holi (also known as the festival of colours). The venue for the elephant festival is the Chaugan Stadium in the old city, just behind the City Palace. The festival does not have any great historical roots and appears to have been established mainly as a tourist attraction.
