Here’s something that I need invented, if anyone gets the chance: a time machine that fast forwards me to the last ten minutes of a photography trip, and then adds all the preceding time onto the end. The reason for my request is that whenever I go out and about with my camera I spend the first part of outing either taking no photos at all, or taking bad shots. Then, when I have about ten minutes left, either I light upon something that I would be happy to photograph for hours, or suddenly... continue reading

This year has ended on a good note. I have now achieved over 1500 images on line and sales reaching over 250, so I am well pleased.Although I concentrate most of my images on food photography such as this fish and chips picture: I also use other areas of interest such as architectural pictures: This image also won a competition entry for me. I always take my camera on holiday with me, as I never want to miss the chance to get a useful image, such as this one of the Eiffel tower: I... continue reading
I'm hoping to have 1000 approved photos by the end of this year and bring up approval ratings too. It's not easy to take a lot of picture working full time, but my wife and I have been busy trying to make our goal on the weekends. It's a good thing that we love doing it. We live in Denver so we have a lot of photos of Denver metro area and surrounding cities. I'll just put up a couple of photos that just been approved. Colorado Governer's mansion living room. This is a football... continue reading
I usually don't car about the number of downloads - i find $ to be more interesting - but today I saw two contributor blogs here writing about their new milestones of 10,000 DLs. So I looked into my stats and noticed I was already way beyond that number. Since the actual number of my DLs was too odd to act as a milestone I counted back - guess my surprise: On 10th of August this was download number 11,111: On a side note: this was the image downloaded just before that one- should really have... continue reading
If I reflect on my, still young, experience in the world of microstock, the first word that comes to mind is "confrontation."I think it's the most important part of the challenge that everyone who comes into this world is facing.Photographers all over the world converge on the web platform, not just for show, but to sell their images. I believe this is the true goal of a professional photographer. The salary for a picture, is the absolute and unequivocal evidence, that your image is loved and... continue reading
Rickshaw driver is my 50th accepted image.I´ve been student of fine art photography and also worked as a photographer for few years. In September 2012 I decided to try out my luck with microstock photography.I never considered myself as excellent photographer, but my education made me feel that I know how to do the stuff. But what happened – I found myself learning from beginnings and completely agreeing with many beginners, writing:"I was surprised, how different stock photography is.... continue reading
Is it really that bad, this apocalypse theory? It did give me a little sale on the photo anyway. ;)The Mayans believed the world might end this way :But would it? Would we be THAT fortunate? I doubt it. Because the world would probably end this way---------------------------------->Now back to the serious topic. This post is mainly about what I believe and sharing my thoughts over the topic. You all must have heard about the recent shooting incident in the US, didn't you? Now tell... continue reading
Is the end of microstock near? It probably is. The day photographers will not be able to pay for the their computer connection is near and I try to explain why:Agencies database are getting bigger and bigger to compete with each other, if you slow down or do not upload for a while your picture portfolio will be diluted among millions more pictures and you will have fewer and fewer downloadsthe price per download due to subscriptionand competition is going down and down and more serious photographers... continue reading
