Some years ago, I decided to go on vacation for a few weeks during the winter. I checked the internet and found many hotels but with terrible pictures. That gave me an idea.I picked a few hotels and E-mailed them my proposal. If they let me stay at their hotel for free, I would create a beautiful website for them, showing off all the best points of the hotel. In return, they would let me stay for FREE.Out of 5 hotels, 2 agreed!Next January I flew to my chosen destination and stayed at the... continue reading
I love orchids.Depending on the species and hybrids, they can be elegant, exotic, flamboyant, stylish, demure, the list goes on.One of the best places to enjoy these beautiful flowers is at the Singapore National Orchid Garden, which is located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens.Sometime in the 1920s, a orchid breeding program was started by the Singapore Botanic Gardens.Since then more than 500 gardens hybrids were registered with the International Registration Authority for Orchid... continue reading
When you travel to exotic far-away countries for wildlife photography the countless number of species which are unknown to you are just overwhelming. Not just the species itself but in many cases even the family is a mystery because it simply doesn't exist in Europe. The local guides know that and enjoy proudly the situation trying to surprise you with as many first-seenjewels as possible. As in the case of the Great White Egret in the picture it happens sometimes however that the bird is... continue reading

Ever since I reached Singapore due to work assignment hardly I got time to write something. However, as my hubby has also accompanied me to here I did not have to give up my hobby. We often go out with cameras over the weekends and capture the bits and bytes of Singapore :) It's a lovely city with ample options for public transport. You just plan and get started for the destination. Also you get too many options for photography. Parks, lakes, local food, gardens, architectures, sea shores... you... continue reading
Having moved to Malaysia a few months ago I now have access to a wealth of fantastic and exotic insects.I have created a Facebook page called Exotic Insects so that others can enjoy the remarkable bugs that we share the planet with. Some of those photos will shortly appear in my portfolio. Most of the insects I photograph thrive in the Cameron Highlands, which rise to an altitude of about 3,000 feet. The jungle is cooler and more lush there due to the heavy rains.I try to visit the Highlands... continue reading
As a landscape and travel photographer, I often dream of traveling to exotic places like Hokkaido, Japan and Sichuan, China. However, personal circumstances depicted that I had to be grounded for close to 12 months, and so instead of moping around, I decided to start "Project @Home".Following on the wisdom on how it is still possible to find photographic gems in close proximity to where one stays, I started with the prosaic road shot as a warm up.This solitary commuter bus amidst the tree... continue reading

The most recent was of two whales breaching, a tough photograph to get in itself, but this one had a kayaker right next to them adding to the composition of these majestic creatures. It was an absolutely stunning image and the kind of photography we all dream of capturing.Such images have inspired me and as such I have been devoting my spare time to capturing the elusive Hodag, a creature not yet photographed... continue reading
