Everybody has their own style and interests within photography and beyond it. My favourite subjects have always been landmarks and nature. However like most people, sometimes I'm experimenting in places where I have never been before. Sometimes these experiments results in an extraordinary picture. Like one of my best pictures. It was almost ten years ago, in a cold winter evening. I was sitting before my computer, and reading news, while my girlfriend was taking a shower. The only light source... continue reading

A couple of years ago somebody showed me some pictures of macro photography. They looked interesting, however, it did not resonate with me. Now, many years later, I read some booksand looked at videos on Youtube. It turns out that macro photography is a lot more than taking pictures of plants and insects and laying on the ground. So, there was a growing interest. After realising that my regular lenses would not suffice, I looked at possible cheap adjustments:- close-up filters are put on a regular... continue reading
We move along and take pictures, as amateurs and professionals. Some enjoy the moment, while giving the content within the frame much thought, and others do it as a habit and such has currently become a trend.Acting and believing the act, that's what photo making seems to be heading towards. The largest growing hobby due to ease of reach to equipment and their complementary enhancements ... now everyone is a photographer; how do i know i'm good at it? well i get likes and shares :). How often do you have inspiration to shoot something awesome but the weather ugly and light is flat? I had exactly this situation few week ago. And it was perfect moment for new experiments. I tried himself in shooting of things. I used origami paper as background and find some things in home. In result I've made some photos in pop-art style. As for me this style will return popularity in nearest time. And what do you think about the future of pop art. continue reading

As far as I remember, one of my photo shoots was canceled at the last moment. I was lucky to meet Lena, who was always bored and never said "no" and at the time was checking her facebook. We've decided to experiment a bit with the light. Here's the result.A few months ago my fellow in the studio bought a very useful item: a plate with honeycombs and curtains. Now I just don’t get how we’ve lived without it. continue reading
So, the other week my parents were coming up to visit and I really needed to get the house a little cleaner, bake some muffins, make some ice tea, etc. Basically I needed to organize some things, and generally run around spastically, doing random frantic things in the usual attempt to try to fool my parents into believing I am a lot less disorganized than I actually am. In all this hub-bub, I realized there wouldn't be much time for a couple of days to play with my camera, do much experimenting, or... continue reading
These are the thoughts of a new photographer at Dreamstime.I have been with Dreamstime for nearly two years and would like to share from my own experiences establishing my portfolio. When I started to build my portfolio at Dreamstime I found it often difficult to understand which images potential customers would be searching for. Besides keywords (maybe my next topic), I found that different compositions of the same subject often attracted more "views" and possibly translating into different... continue reading
