Has your photography bug ever gotten you in trouble with family? How many times have you heard:Can you please just put the camera away for once?!Recently, while going to a restaurant near Lake Oconee in Georgia with my family, I spotted several active Osprey nests. How badly I wanted to stop the car for some photos! But I didn’t want my photography addiction to get me in trouble once again. Just have patience. Enjoy dinner with family. An opportunity will arise later, I told myself.... continue reading

A few weeks ago, I was walking around a pond behind my office, camera in hand, and I observed a real family feud! Two Canada Goose families were resting near each other in the shade. As I approached, the goslings were startled and ran down helter skelter into the pond, the two groups of goslings getting mixed together in the process. Almost immediately, one of the parents of the smaller goslings began to chase and attack the larger goslings. This prompted a parent of the larger goslings to fly... continue reading
Look through any micro-stock web-site and it's pretty obvious that buyers do like images with people in them. Sites are full of attractive, smiling or laughing models, beautifully dressed and full of confidence, staring straight at the camera. However is this what buyers really want? I don't think so, at least not always. From time to time we read that buyers actually don't want models that look like models. Rather they are looking for more natural images of real people engrossed in... continue reading
I apologize in advance for mistakes in English. I am self-taught.If we talk about models - people, it was always the first choice for me to reach for someone in the family. As the mother of five children, I have to choose from. I'm just a casual photographer and I do not have much experience, but one thing I know for sure - if you shoot a family, you will save yourself a lot of worries. You do not have to deal with personal information if you can work with your children. You do not have to worry... continue reading
Many of us have photography as a hobby and also big commitments to our family activities. This often involves driving family members to sports practices, music lessons, appointments or other events when they need a ride and say "can you please pick me up in an hour".So, what to do with the hour? I could surf the net on my phone, go for coffee, or drive home and do a chore for 15 minutes and then drive back. Or?I decided to be a micro-explorer.With camera in tow, I decided to explore the... continue reading
Our family now has four generations living in two households just a few streets apart. We moved my Mom and her cat from Florida to be with us so she could spend more time with family and we could actively assist with her care as she grows older. We just completed an addition to our home that is a private studio apartment so she can continue to live independently and we have some privacy too. We added features like lights and faucets on timers since she is prone to forgetting to turning them... continue reading
We are still waiting for the heatwave in The Netherlands, but yet - mostly because of the rain we're getting lately - I'm thinking about Christmas. I am not a real fan of winter, except when it's snowing. I still remember the cracking sound my feet made when I was playing in the snow as a kid. Those days Christmas was all about family for me. I was much younger and less independent, and we had the tradition of celebrating Christmas at the house of my grandma (now 93 years old), with lots of... continue reading

Here is a short story of Argos, the dog who could be called the most loyal canine in history. In the pictures I share, you see Kora, the dog we own, and other our pack members. That‘s our family. Argus is the best example of the loyal friend. In Homer's Odyssey, Argos is Odysseus faithful dog. After ten years fighting in Troy, followed by ten more years struggling to get home to Ithaca, Odysseus finally arrives at his homeland. Odysseus bred Argos himself. In his days as a pup,... continue reading
