I love landscape photography and recently wanted to find out which photographers were famous in this area of photography. I came across the usual names; people like Ansel Adams, but I wanted to know if there were any modern day photographers who specialized in digital landscape photography which is a lot different to when Ansel was taking Black & White shots of his beloved America. Those guys used film in their cameras and only got to see the finished image after processing. This was... continue reading

Hello fellow photographers,Take a look who joined DT a few month ago and now is the featured photographer. The world famous Joseph Sohm. He may be submitting images I presume just like the rest of us and maybe, who knows, some get rejected on grounds of "distorted pixels" or that "image needs to be clear and supportive of the image's main concept", fatal flaws when it comes to stock. I don't think so... :) All his images are probably accepted instantly as they should be.I feel very proud to... continue reading
Although my approach has become popularly known as environmental portraiture, it only suggests a part of what I have been doing and am doing. Overlooked is that my approach is also symbolic and impressionistic or whatever label one cares to use.So said Arnold Newman of his art in the early 1980s.I can only imagine the frustration he may have felt at being stuck with a “label”.It strikes me as odd, that it took one man to popularize an approach that seems evident. I mean, if you are... continue reading
I wonder who selects the member's choice. One of our fellow member of the DT pointed out to me that I am becoming famous as one of my pictures is listed in the Member's choiceWhen I went to that page I found that indeed it was there. But yesterday when I went to the same page I found that two of my pictures were featured there !!Now this is a double bonanza and I wonder who selects and puts these up there. continue reading
One of the things that has always struck me about the famous brands is their extraordinary simplicity. They are never complex, not too much sophistication and I think this is one of their secrets of success. It's enough a prancing horse to make a fast car?Certainly not! But it certainly helps to make a legendary car,as only two letters are enough to put a maison at the top. What do you think about famous brands? continue reading
From time to time I like to read quotes, these are some very interesting quotes, I hope you like them. There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer. Ansel AdamsIt takes a lot of imagination to be a good photographer. You need less imagination to be a painter, because you can invent things. But in photography everything is so ordinary; it takes a lot of looking before you learn to see the ordinary. David BaileyNot everybody... continue reading
