WOW ! 100 Dreamstime Fans

Hi Dreamstimers !In those days, I became a favourite contributor for 100 Dreamstimers !Thanks to you, my fans !I am very happy. On Tuesday I came back from New Zealand. I traveled through North and South Island and I have brought hundreds of photographs. The weather was beautiful and I could finally see Mitre Peak - an iconic mountain, located on the shore of Milford Sound in the South Island of New Zealand.New Zealand is a beautiful country with natural beauties and clear skies for stargazing.... continue reading

Your personal favourite

I am curious to see people's personal favourite images. These need not be the best technically or the most commercial but just the picture which for whatever reason you have a soft spot for. I will kick off with my own...not an easy choice but one I like because of the light and shadows in what was quite a simple image.                       The SlowWalkers selection                      Physi28 selection          ... continue reading

Pictures I've taken and I'm proud of

I chose some of my pictures I´ve proud of. I hope you will like them. :)1. Old Sumbanese People Making FireI love this photo, because I needed to wait three days until they´ve started to trust me. I walked three times per day to their small village in West Sumba and I tried to talk with them. My indonesian language was as bad as their indonesian language. :) So we were talking indonesian plus czech plus some sumbanese dialect. Very interesting. 2. Tiwi People, AustraliaI took this... continue reading

Do you ever suffer from "stock block"

The last few days have been terrible.I have not been able to get any decent photographs due to what I term "stock block".Have you ever just tried and tried to get the images you believe will work and when you view them you just thing....Uhg....what was I thinking. You take a trip to your favourite spots to see if there are any other images waiting to be taken on top of the other two and half dozen you already have from those areas. Then you realise that no matter how hard you look you... continue reading

Unrequited love

Some of my favourite photos sell really well and some I don't expect would do well also do well. Once I put up a photo of an Eland and it sold within a few days. That somebody out there wanted an Eland (a type of antelope) amazed me. Which is why I think we should never second guess the market. But here's my images that have not sold and to be honest I think people are missing out. Unrequited love so to speak. Now I delete some images that don't sell and after I while I think... continue reading

Bye bye Fred!

We all have a favourite model, Fred was mine.I am going to miss him terribly. All the more so because I am responsible for his demise. It took only a couple of weeks to train him to pose wherever we put a worm or two. In fact he was often posingbefore I got the worms out of their box.Soon he progressed to hand feeding:Before we knew it he was coming into the kitchen for a chat with his tea-time treat. Having 3 cats we strongly discouraged this behaviour by keeping the garden door... continue reading

Sometimes the perfect shot finds you.

When you are least expecting it, a picture presents itself to you.If you are ready for it, you can capture it.Some of the best pictures I have taken, have found me and not the other way around. My lastest picture is one of my favourites. There is only a little cropping and picture is basically what I saw.Whether I get any sales at all on it, it is still one of my most enjoyed.19710738 continue reading

Images explained - maybe how maybe when maybe why

I like this image, because for once, I shot seasonal images ON TIME! I got it online in November, early, and it (the whole shoot) has done well on most of the platforms I submit to. Also, the model is a mate of mine, and we had lotsa fun in my studio. So my good friend books me for a shoot at my studio for his corporate profile (he is an executive coach - www.outerboxthinking.com), but apart from his fierce looking corporate portraits, he needed some fun shots, to use to create some repoir with... continue reading
