Mixed feelings about selling a photo

Usually every time a photo of mine sells it fills my heart with joy. Yesterday this photo sold. It gave me a bitter sad feeling. We were tourists in Paris in May 2013 and just the first day when we started to roam the city, were surprised by the intense police activity, which I found rather amusing. They were dressed for battle as preparing to fight a huge force when in fact the demonstrators turned out to be elderly people that tried to make a last stand against legalizing gay marriage. ... continue reading

I never thought that i will ever be so addictive about thins thing. When I started, not a long time ago, i really had nothing in common with this passion, i did not had a camera, i thought that a picture is just a picture and as a little child i was always afraid of have my photo taking. One year on Dreamstime!

Hello / Good evening all! Happy Birthday to me on Dreamstime! Today is one year since I registered here. The time passed so quickly that I feel like yesterday I uploaded my first stock photos. Stock photography was and still is a challenge that I like to answer, even if not every day, but how much I can. It was a year in which because of this community, I learned to be more attentive to detail, to appreciate more the quality and not quantity, not only in photography but also in everyday life! It's... continue reading

Diary of a rueful microstocker

I bought my first digital camera on 2004 ans I discovered stock photography on 2006, I was searching if I could do some money with my pictures and discovered microstock agencies, what people call "big 6". Beginning were very very frustrating, rejections a lot and more, sites that requires 10 pictures accepted to be contributor and they rejects all you send, etc...So one year ago I decided to be DT exclusive, it had a very attractive option for exclusives. And here I amI would like to talk... continue reading

The emotions of foals

Ever since I was born I've been around horses. At this moment my sister owns 6 grown up horses and 2 foals. 2 colts to be precise. I never saw their births happen (they were born at my sister's place) but I was always there when they were a few hours. And I can say that even though horses seem crazy, big animals who at times you cannot trust, you will find yourself enjoying their manners and eventually their company. They are very much like humans, they can make faces, they can feel pain. I love spending... continue reading

Dealing with Rejection

I hate being rejected. Do you remember the last kid chosen for teams in elementary school? That was always me. Not only was I rejected, but it was in such a public way. So, what did I do? In adulthood, I selected several creative, highly competitive fields of endeavor. What can I say, I'm kind of nuts.In writing ,painting, and now photography, I deal with rejection every day. It hurts my feelings, and after the hurt comes a flash of anger, but after the fury comes a rush of determination--not... continue reading

Editors have feelings too, you know?

Tolstoi once said that everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. I try to remind myself this quote daily, especially when confronted with criticism. Everybody wants to go to heaven, no one wants to die.The most common question received from (new) photographers regards refusals. If you're no longer new and noticed this (forbidden) question on the boards think what support sees on email. Just as the rules apply on the forums, they apply on the blogs too, so I... continue reading
