In ancient times, Lithuania was a real Oakland. Researchers believe that in XVI century oaks were covering around 20 percent of the total forest area. Some of those ascendants are still out there. Here is a photo of an old oak which growths near the place I live. Every tree has its own history. I do not know what is the story of this particular oak. On the other hand, you definitely feel different or at least strange being near. You want to touch it and of course, feel something.... continue reading

I really love nature and often go far from the city and for a few days I go into the forest. Now it's time to mushroom and migrate snakes for hibernation, and the season of forest berries has also started. This beauty is often found along the route and leaves no one indifferent. This is a small diamond viper. She behaved quite calmly, she even managed to hang her on a branch and take some pictures. At that moment, the shooting was a bit scary, I had an 18-135 mm lens and had... continue reading
Today is my husband’s birthday. As we are lucky enough to live close to the New Forest, an obvious way to celebrate a summer birthday is to go for lunch at one of the many pleasing hostelries there, followed by a stroll in the sunshine, and finishing up with a cream tea to replace all that lost energy. Or, as was the case today, to do all this in cloudy weather. Regardless of the famous British weather though, the New Forest is a beautiful location for me to drop into from time to time... continue reading
Do you think you got what it takes to take pictures of the fire?So far 327,000 hectares of fire has been reported across British Columbia in Canada. This translates into 155 active fires going on at one time. It is very difficult to get pictures of the blazes itself because nobody can get near the fire. Even at a distance the heat is so intense that it melts metal from vechiles and blows ashes the size of your hands that would feel like a hot pancake being thrown at you if it landed on your skin.... continue reading
I live in Karelia. This place is very rich in its forests and natural resources, as well as berries from which one of the most delicious and beautiful is the cowberry. It grows very small and imperceptible bushes, if they can be called so. There is a lot of color on it and they are very beautiful. I did not see them often, did not pay attention to them. This year they met me and took their photo. continue reading
Photo of a white flower on a stone. As for me, a very good background turned out, the flower itself is very small and grows very much in our forests. Do not find that it is a bit like a lily and it makes it even more attractive. The idea of the photo came quite spontaneously when I had already taken all the photos and was going to go home and I always wanted to take a photo of this flower, but I did not know how to make it more original than just growing from the ground. I hope you enjoy this... continue reading

My family and I are very fond of animals and now in our house quite harmoniously coexist dog and cat. The cat appeared in our home about a year ago, we took a very small kitten. And we started to notice sometimes that the cat learned a lot from our adult Shepherd. Early in the morning the cat comes to say hello and lick my cheek, and in the evenings he often lies at the door, guarding the house) We live near the forest and often go there for a walk with the dog at any time of the year. Our... continue reading
