A recent trip to the So. Rim, Grand Canyon during a snow storm created some challenging photographic conditions so I thought I would share as it might be helpful to less experienced shooters as I once was. It was cold, snowing and wind driven conditions, making itless than ideal to create some good stock photography.Nevertheless I was there so I was going to make the most of a 2-day stay.Knowing that the train pulls in at about 11:30AM andwhere I wanted to capture the shot I calculated... continue reading

A friend of mine and I stopped in Grand Marais and we walked out to Artists Point to take some pictures. Lake Superior was dead calm, not a ripple. I had never seen the big lake that still. We were skipping some stones and trying to take photos and videos of the stones skipping. My friend was laughing so hard because when she tried to skip stones they just went down into the water and didn’t skip.It was a beautiful evening to just be out and enjoy the sunset. While we were driving to the motel... continue reading

The park's central feature is the Grand Canyon,a gorge of the Colorado River, which is often considered one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. .Grand Canyon was officially designated a national park in 1919 and it is one of the oldest parks in the United States. Just a few minutes ago, I reached my personal goal of 1000 SALES here on dreamstime. It was not that long ago I struggled to get 50 images accepted, and then like the proverbial watched pot, waited and watched and watched and waited for the sales to come in. I have learned a lot, and have 2800 images accepted currently.I attemptedto upload 10 a day, and stayed with that for a golden month before life got in the way in a major blast- I becamemother to three babies under 3 at the end of January.... continue reading
I've tried to get images selected for assignments, but had never succeeded. Until now. The "Retro Look" call for assignments was of great interest to me. This was like an open invitation to get iphone or android app processed images or even Lomo-ish images out into the competition, something I'd dare not venture to post otherwise.I tried a couple of times and got rejected and hence was looking for a good subject. While on a trip to the UAE, I thought it would be a good idea to shoot either the brilliant... continue reading

Couple of years ago I visited the Big Bazaar in Istanbul. This Bazaar is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with 60 covered streets and about 5,000 shops. It's a real shopping experience! Well known for its jewellery, hand-painter ceramics, carpets, spices, antiques, leather and so on. It also houses 2 mosques and 2 hamams. It was built in 1461, so over 550 year old now. continue reading
I've started a Grand Canyon collection.More specifically, Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.I'm looking for images that are not the average photo taken from the rim but more dynamic. There are thousands of photos of the Grand Canyon and I want to narrow it down to the more interesting or detailed, images with hikers, images from the canyon floor, or truly amazing photos with great light and great compositions.I know there's many out there so send me the ID numbers and I'll add them in.... continue reading
Yes, it's Earth Day! For me celebrating Earth Day is a double-edged sword. It saddens me to think of how much beauty we have destroyed on our precious planet. But I rejoice whenever I experience the immense scale of nature, its creativity and the magnificent isolation of untouched land. The Grand Canyon is one of those places that take your breath away - there are no words in my vernacular to describe it. No photo will ever completely capture the pure intensity that is the Grand Canyon. Happy Earth... continue reading
