Stock Photos are Everywhere

Great stock photos are all around you and in places you would never expect. That's one of the reasons I am rarely more than a few moments from my camera bag. But, having your camera in the bag is different than having it your hand...Once you get your camera out of the bag, you have to get it up in front of your face...One of my all time best selling stock photos is a shot I took on a whim while waiting to take photos of some friends singing and playing at a small outdoor venue.... continue reading

Running a Collection

Hi, guys!I am running a few collections for a little less than 2 years. The most popular has turned out to be the collection of European Football Stadiums. Christmas Traditions

I know it is not the time, but frankly, I had no time to post them when it was the right moment. In the village I come from, people use to sacrifice pigs before Christmas and prepare a lot of traditional specialties with pork. Here are a few photos of how it starts, I mean the roasting and slicing after the sacrifice. I hope I will not be criticised by animals protectors or such before I tell you the animals are stunned before the sacrifice and they get a quick and relatively painless death. It'... continue reading

Shooting tethered

Hello guys!Have you ever thought your camera's tiny screen was not enough to preview your images? Or felt a bit disappointed after seeing the pictures on your computer? Well, I certainly did. And I recently found out there's a solution to this and it's quite a popular one. I didn't know about it and I suppose I wasn't the only one, so I'll share it with you :)Shooting tethered means you'll connect your camera to your computer/laptop and control it right from that device. This way you'll... continue reading

Shooting Tethered On The Cheap

I've recently started using tethering software for almost all stock photos I shoot. This manner of shooting allows for instant feedback on a large calibrated monitor, rather than the LCD on your DSLR.I have a Macbook Pro and Nikon DSLR's so with other brands YMMV.The two I have tested are StudioTether and Sofortbild. The latter is a much more capable program, enabling time delay, interval shooting and Live View capability. The camera is hooked into the computer via a standard USB cable, which... continue reading
