On the hunt ...

On the hunt ...Recently I was in a deep forest to hunt wild animals. But I was not shooting any animals, but new images. I went to the woods before daylight and waited for the sunrise and the first warm morning rays that attract animals to heat. And waited and waited ... and then I saw them come into the clearing. I was hidden behind a small bush and quietly pulling the trigger on my camera ...Gradually, the... continue reading

The hunt for mood in photography

Hi everyone,This is my first blog. I have been unable to do one up until now, but I am excited to join the Dreamstime community. I have been a photographer with Dreamstime now since August last year and I am continually inspired by the amazing photography uploaded to this site and the high standard of work. For sometime now I have been conflicted over what is the most important in photography, the technical aspect, composition or mood. This seems to be a common question and debate amongst photographers,... continue reading

Hunting for success

Many, many blogs I've read about THE SUCCESS on stock. Much, much true - how to catch $$$... and much, much lie - mmm, I just enjoy in creative job, $$$ is not main! Yess, it is not main if you have enough. Well, bullying wasn't my goal, I just want to share my experience in hunting for success. I've read everything what people wrote about this - something like "1000000000000 online", or "1000000000 years on DT" and everything rest with big numbers and big promises in header. And I used some advises... continue reading

Photo Hunting

Sometimes ya need to just get out of the house and go for a ride. And when the winter has been long and nasty one starts to get a little shack wacky and that makes it all the more important to get out.It makes it all the more enjoyable to take your camera and a campanion along to enjoy the scenery. This is also a great opportunity to capture some good photos along the way.I like to take old roads that have little traffic and just drive very slow to see what's out there. It is... continue reading

Hunt for your own photos on the net.

Every contributor here on DT wants to know how and where his/her photos were used. There is even a special thread on the Message Boards (DT in action) Because I've just discovered one of my images being used in an article, I posted a thread there too.First have a read here....then let me tell how I found it.1. I put my full name in quotas and ran Google search.2. Then search among the search results (yes, it's another searching, cause every query brings many results, some are useless)... continue reading

Job hunting - Part 1

After more than a decade, I am on the job market again (unfortunately am not shifting anywhere near enough photography to stay out of an office). It is a rather interesting experience and not as intimidating as one may have thought (or that the picture to the left may suggest). But of course, even before getting to the interview stage, there's the small matter of sparking some interest in someone's head to get offered an interview.I had of course been keeping my CV up to date during all this... continue reading
