The legend of Mount Agung - the volcano that closed down Bali

When someone says Bali, you will instantly see white sand beaches, laid back backpackers, tanned tourists and locals mingling, fresh produce and tasty cocktails, but paradise comes with a footnote. Mount Agung, or Gunung Agung, guards over the island of Bali, Indonesia like a sleeping giant. Standing at 3,031 m (9,944 ft) it's the highest point on the island, and it has a strong influence on the weather patterns, especially rainfall. As it turns out, the sleeping giant has... continue reading

Attacked by monkey on Kelimutu

Kelimutu is active volcano with three colorful lakes on island Flores near by village Moni (Indonesia). If you want to see them in the best light you have to leave at 4 a.m. We rented a motorbike so we were not depended on other people.By the parking lot there is a small market. There I have drunk the best coffee that the old woman seller had made herself. But you have to have good luck - there is more sellers and not everyone has as good coffee as the one. Good luck ;-).Everything went well.... continue reading

Padar Island - one of wonders of Indonesia

Padar Island belong among wonders of Indonesia. This island is near by Labuan Bajo (Flores, Nusa Tengara Timur) and Komodo Island and it´s shape seems like a miracle. With half-round bays with different colors of sand no beaches and steep mountains looks more like creation of some artist than as regular volcanic island. To get to Padar Island is not so difficult. In Labuan Bajo there is plenty of travel agencies that offer trip not just to Padar Island but also to other wonders near by Flores... continue reading

Komodo Dragon, Biggest Lizard on Earth

Komodo or Komodo dragon is the biggest living species of lizard on earth. It is one the few venomous lizards and has been designated as one of The New 7 Wonders of Nature. I was really lucky that I could take photos of them in the wilderness of Komodo Island and Rinca Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.   Those photos are taken in Komodo Island. My favorite photo is the one taken in Rinca Island (Loh Buaya).  How do you like the photos? Would you like to photograph... continue reading

I walked three times per day to their small village in West Sumba and I tried to talk with them. My indonesian language was as bad as their indonesian language. :) So we were talking indonesian plus czech plus some sumbanese dialect. Very interesting. 2. Tiwi People, AustraliaI took this... continue reading

The piece of Bali

I´ve said many times that my opinion about Bali island was changed after one year when I was living there. Before that I was just a typical tourist and I used to think only about beaches, parties and temples. But now I can say that Bali is more than that. See these pictures - what do you think? Do you agree with me? :)           continue reading

Balinese Perang Api Ritual

I tried many times to upload this picture, but every time was refused. Finally they´ve approved it. :) I´m so happy, because that night was one of the most interesting nights in my life and also I really like this picture. Balinese people are throwing burning coconuts to each other. I tried it with them. It´s not so nice, because it hurts and your clothes will be burned after that, but if you will go to Bali in March, try it! :) And also here is some pictures with new sales:  ... continue reading
