As the visible light is used to create regular images everybody is familiar with, Xrays are used for images of inner structures of objects. Both are actually electromagnetic radiation, stream of photons differing in wavelength - visible ~ 390-710 nm; xrays ~ 10-0.001 nm. Colors of visible light are coded by the surface materials that absorb different amounts of light in different parts of visible spectrum, however xrays provide us with information about material density within an object. Xrays... continue reading

Hi Dreamstimers... we're approaching 4th of July Celebrations!I was born the 4th of July... truly! LOLMy attention is paid to pets... please, please, be careful with them and ensure they're safe during celebrations. They're very sensible to rumours and noises, so please keep in mind to recover them in a safe place surrounded by comfortable objects smelling of you for them to feel safe and secure, while you pop your joy! Enjoy the Indipendence Day! continue reading
Well, I am an engineer by profession and photographer by passion..but honestly none of these were my childhood dreams :)My mom, being a botanist, always encouraged me about a clean and green environment, whereas my grand-pa, being a social worker, always encouraged me to do something for society.Ok, now you must be laughing. With all those great courage and inspirations I ended up being an Engineer! Well, who can ignore the need of money :) So here I am also running behind money just like most... continue reading
I am sure that my generation and the next is in grave danger of losing the memory capacity of our brain due to digital revolution. This trend will set a change in human evolution also in coming years. Even some generations before me who are hooked to the tech will be facing this problem. Recently my grandfather expired and I went back into the lane of old memories remembering everything. One of the things I remembered was the first phone in our house. And then I suddenly realized that I knew so many... continue reading
Until now I tried to upload some flower pictures. They ended up rejected for various reason et the one is - not better that those which are already in the database of DT.I told to my self that it is not worth at all to try to capture flower occasionally with preparation and good studio lightning. This is true until yesterday. I upload four picture of 3 types of flowers and all of them are accepted houraaaaaaaaaaaaaa!.............I hope that they interest some buyers... continue reading
After three month of intense uploads, I must admit that this is my first and will be my last picture of composition of flowers. Because, I think that the flowers topics are over represented. And the requirements are so high that I can't compete with. It is not worth for me to spent time to find/make my composition to end up with more that one hand can count as issues to solve. The unsolvable issue for me is "no way to resubmit".It seems that the isolated items are more populars in terms of sales... continue reading
It seems that I still have a lot to learn about lighting. And if I had the opportunity and lived in a location to get some education about this, I definitely would. So I'm writing this for others that are in a similar boat (here's an oar).I am new to stock and really wish I could see what the reviewers see as faults. I've taken two pictures using the same lighting, similar composition and the same adjustments. One picture gets accepted and the other rejected due to poor lighting. I'm using the... continue reading
I have managed to get an image accepted that is scanned from some of my old slides.I lived for a year in Bangladesh and took quite a lot of photos there, as well as during some travels in India.Scanning is a little frustrating as you have to deal with a number of issues:1. Dust and scratches.Hopefully there aren't scratches, but all the blowing in the world seems to leave a few particles behind that you need to take care of.2. Color balance.Colors fade at different rates so the older... continue reading
America and some other parts of the world are somewhat preoccupied with the U.S. presidential election. The candidates are often out and about in public and can be photographed in venues large and small. Images of the candidates are everywhere—and certainly some are coming from Dreamstime. How can you take advantage of any election season photographically in addition to news shots of the candidates?Advertising and promotions show election related images to highlight their brand, products... continue reading
I don't know about anyone else, but isolating images is one of my least favorite tasks in Photoshop.I see that there was a blog on this topic in late December, but that was focused on shooting within a lightbox, or in other conditions that you can manipulate.Lots of times, I'm trying to isolate a large object that I found in natural conditions, rather than a small subject that I can get in a lightbox.I have tried just about every method I can find to isolate my subject, and then create credible,... continue reading
