My first assignment image approved

This is the first time my assignment image was approved on Dreamstime. It's of a city of Gifu, Japan - a prefectural capital, but not many visitors from abroad know about it, which I guess makes it underrated, since there's quite a few attractions worth a look, and one cultural event you probably won't see anywhere else - cormorant fishing on Nagara river. Here's this river flowing through town:  continue reading

Aoba festival on Mount Koya, Japan

I travel a lot in Asia, and Japan is my most favorite country. One of the things I especially enjoy is local events, like temple festivals or traditional celebrations.Mount Koya in Wakayama prefecture is a UNESCO World Heritage site for its Buddhist temples. It's a major spiritual center in Japan, associated with a famous Japanese Buddhist saint Kobo Daishi (he lived in 8-9 centuries AD and founded both Mount Koya and Shingon Buddhism school). First 100$ milestone (and first blog post)!

Quite happy to have finally made it. I jumped over the 100$ threshold with a 9.90 $ sale of a very green image, which is by far the most I got for a single sale. I started with dreamstime back in 2010 when I uploaded a couple of images out of curiosity to see whether anybody would buy my images. Not much activity from my side for four years after that, but about a year ago I started again uploading, this time more seriously leading to 765 accepted images and more than 100 $ in sales as of today.... continue reading

Travels around Asia Increasing the diversity of a portfolio

While in the past I have written blogs that help provide some thought provoking subjects to help the photographer look at things differently or to offer an engaging topic, this time, however, my article will look at the beauty and uniqueness of Asia. For those in the western world who have not been to Asia, each country is quite unique in their food, culture, people and architecture. The one commonality between them is these cultures and countries are different from the West. While some can say... continue reading
