New Collection: DC cherry blossoms

As we are all shivering in the freezing cold and knee deep in snow amidst a blizzard, this collection highlights what we can look forward to in the next few months; the beautiful pink blossoms of the DC Cherry Blossom festival that signals the beginning of Spring. The sakura festival holds special meaning to me as it is where I had my engagement photos taken but is also one of the most gorgeous times in DC.You can view or request to be added to the collection here          ... continue reading

From Sushi Bar to Dreamstime

As a newbie to Dreamstime and the whole stock photography milieu, I'm still awed by the new experiences I get myself into. I bet veteran photographers have been-here-done-this, but while I'm a novice learning the ropes, I'd like to chronicle my explorations. Down the road, when I've earned my stripes, I'll read my first blogs and say, yeah, I did that! What did I do this time?My husband took me to a Japanese restaurant for my last-day-of-my-birthmonth dinner. We ordered teppanyaki and a huge... continue reading

First Photo in the "News Section"

Last week I found I was rewarded with an extra $5. As I am a beginner on DT, I didn't know what it is for. So I asked my friend Xiye who introduced me to join DT, and received a link from him: https://www.dreamstime.com/news-photos.Oh, Great!!!This is my first photo picked up for the“news section”. It recorded the crowded Japanese people welcome new year in the temple on December 31 at midnight. In the begining of a new year, Japanese people gather to visit different shrines and pray... continue reading

Demon

Recently we have spent not absolutely usual session of a photo. To execute this action, we have chosen Memorial Park in the city of Ryazan. There was few person, various wood ways, various trees stand separately: you can remove in birches, it is possible in pines. From minuses - dust presence. Before you will shoot, you should look carefully. It is easier to remove at once, than to edit later.Maria has kindly agreed to turn in a medieval Japanese wood demon - the character of the Japanese animation.... continue reading

Japanese Photographer - Killed in the line of duty

Photojournalists who, in every way put their news coverage before their lives, is it all worthwhile? The current situation in Yangon not only cost the government an image badly damaged, it took a life of a fellow photographer in our photography community.Whether or not he was intentionally shot to death, the Japanese photographer was merely trying to get his points across to the whole world in the form of an image.Yet, the now widespread image of the situation is of him lying wounded and... continue reading

Awagami Factory

I've discovered a source of Japanese paper that is now being coated for inkjet printing. The Awagami Factory is so nice they will actually send you a sample pack from their factory in Japan. The coated 70 gsm Kozo is much sharper and the blacks are immensely richer than any uncoated Kozo I've used. The website is a wealth of info, and beautifully designed as well-just what you would expect. I am such the Japanophile. Here's a haiku of Basho's-The village is old;No houseWithout its persimmon... continue reading
