Image found on another stock photography website!

One of my files here was downloaded few days ago. I did a search for it cause I just wanted to see where my files end up, and I found it on Czech stock photography website. So they bought my file, I got 35 cents for it and now they are getting money from it? I think they should have bought rights for that, right?Thanks for your thoughts people! UK lawyers are above law or out of law ?

 Today, I discovered an amazing thing about the misuse of pictures downloaded illegally on Dreamstime.By a sudden curiosity, I installed a plugin on my internet explorer to search my photos on the internet. After some research, I came across a site called ELSA, an association of lawyers based in London. I left them a message to remind them that one of their pages is using one of my photos illegally with the Dreamstime watermark without the bottom right credit informations.What do you think... continue reading

The Low-Down on Legal Language

There is a recent trend among agencies to shift the legality requirement to the copyright holder who is sending the work to the agent, aka the photographer.A lot of this is practical. Plain Stealing

So... I was informed yesterday by a dear friend that my husband's image is posted on Facebook:ArtPics ImageIt came complete with a "Wow! Please share this photo" description!It was credited to someone else, not to Georges Kyrillos.This was enough to make me panic. Then I saw the number of shares and how things were getting out of control very quickly. I did comment, I did sent the page a message to please remove the image, & I did file a Facebook complaint for copyrights infringement.... continue reading
