First off I have broke the 200 images and am well on my way to breaking 300!Secondly I wanted to share a little bit about the use of extenders and turning your regular lenses into macro lenses for 5$ All these images of bees and bugs where taken with a 18-55mm lens and a 5$ attachment on amazon. However the trick is in lighting your subjects with flash. Using no more than a white piece of paper and a speed light flash on... continue reading

Manual flash photography

Manual flash photography is a must when you are indoors and shoot in poor light, I stand on a stool and shooting with a 105mm Sigma macro, this is one of my tests I have done with my new objectiv Sigma EX 105 / 2.8 DG OS HSM Macro. This lens is compatible with the Sigma 1.4 and 2x converters. The chef who cooks burgers on Romanian way, moving all the time so I take many pictures before I will be satisfied. Sigma 105 / 2.8 OS is a very sharp lens, and performs well already on the largest opening. It... continue reading

What I think about the difference of Sigma Sigma 50mm and 105mm

What I think about the difference of Sigma Sigma 50mm and 105mm macro lenses is that with Sigma EX 105 / 2,8 DG OS HSM Macro avoids the insects fly away when you do not have to go so close to the object. After that you get a little more Dof dots out of focus when shooting with a higher focal value.  continue reading

Some fast tips on photographing insects and other invertebrates

Insects are a very interesting subject to photograph. Can be useful, however, to have some foresight, to get a better result. Know your "enemy" insects are an interesting subject to photograph because they are virtually everywhere, but it must be familiar with the biology of the species that interest us, to be able to photograph them. I therefore strongly recommend to buy a small field manual on the entomological fauna of your region, or about the group of insects of you interest.... continue reading

And of course because I just bought new camera and I want to learn what all I could do with that. :)First one was really hard to take, because I had Olympus OM-D with basic objective 12 - 50mm. Same objective for second and third one is with same, but more expensive objective.
