After you've been traveling for a while, you start to accumulate many random kick-knacks from batiks to bowls. And your friends and family may sigh and say "yet another _______"? The truth is, when you have traveled, a lot souvenirs start to look the same. I've found very similar socks and mittens in both Kathmandu and Peru which made me question about where my gifts are actuallycoming from. For me souvenirs are a little bit about the culture, not something that's mass replicated. So what... continue reading

The edition is January 2015.Well, there was an image I spotted which resembles very much with one of my stock photo I have online. And then quickly I navigated... continue reading

My favorite magazine as a kid was Mad Magazine.I was a big fan of Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions by Al Jaffee, Spy Vs. Spy from the mind of Antonio Prohías and of course the "One Day..." strips of Don Martin. Now that my son is a twelve, he's discovered Mad Magazine and while flipping through the June 2012 issue I noticed an editors note that said they had forgotten to credit the photos in the previous issue in an article called "Banana Republican" which featured Photoshopped images by Scott... continue reading
In March 2011 I published the first issue of Alberta Marketing Strategy Magazine. It is a short run (25,000 print copies) B2B print and web publication. The image in this article was used for the composite to show clients. When the client who was to be put on the cover saw this photograph he suggested that we just run with him - but he was only joking of course. Still, the advertisers loved this photograph. And, it provides me some images for stock photography - creative and editorial. This exposure is good for business. You might consider doing some freelance work for your local newspaper or magazine.I've been nominated... continue reading
