National Puppy Day

National Puppy Day is celebrated on March 23. Though it was started in the US to bring awareness to dog and cat adoption, I want to celebrate by sharing some puppy images. Since we live on a ranch, we bought a couple Rat Terrier puppies as they are known to keep the mice and rat population under control and they are a good family pet!Toto and Charlie were from the same litter. They were very active and I used a fast lens to capture them playing outside. Two of Charlie's images... continue reading

Documenting History and Amplifying Voices

Before flipping the calendar on January, I’d like to reflect on the Women’s March. Whatever your political leanings, I found such inspiration in documenting the events.First, a little backstory. I reconnected with a dear friend around Christmas 2016. We chatted about all kinds of things, catching each other up on our lives. We met at this really cool restaurant in New York City that had delicious food and had this old time tavern kind of vibe. Well, at some point in the conversation she told me... continue reading

March milestone month

This past month has been a great one as I consider myself still new to the game.I had a personal best in terms of sales, including my largest sale yet.  This particular photo was a best-seller multiple times this month.Politics must be on everyone's mind.  However, my most meaningful sale was one that I had today. It was my very first upload 5 years ago (after which I took a 4 year hiatus and returned to Dreamstime last year).Goes to show that persistence is rewarded and... continue reading

Solar Eclipse - 20th March 2015

This morning I photographed the Solar Eclipse.Weather conditions were far from perfect, however I managed to get a couple of reasonable shots through small gaps in the clouds.Unfortunately, I did not get any shots at the time of maximum occlusion, the thick cloud cover was total during full occlusion. The maximum occlusion would have given about 95% coverage of the solar disc from where I live, in the north of the United Kingdom.Anyway, here are my images...........not brilliant, but not... continue reading

Solar eclipse 20 th March 2015

Today, 20 th March, 2015 there is an unique event in the world. On the same day: an eclipse of the sun, the spring equinox and the "super moon" at perigee. The disc of the moon, very large because the satellite is at the minimum distance from Earth, has just covered the sun, obscuring it.I am very happy to share with you this event of the solar eclipse that, although Italy has been only partial compared than northern Europe where it was total, anyway it was a spectacular event. This my... continue reading

50th Anniversary of the Martin Luther King March

I attended the 50th anniversary of the Martin Luther King March on 8/28/13 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.At first I thought it would be a bust as it was raining that day but a big crowd showed up anyway. There was a steady procession of activists, celebrities, singers and even the three presidents Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and the first lady Michelle Obama. The celebration lasted from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and was well worth it.A hot topic was the shooting of Trayvon... continue reading
