Increasing image views seems to be the hardest part about stock photography. I mean among millions and millions of images how does a photographer get their pictures to be viewed?I come from a Marketing background. I studied advertisement in school. I have years of experience in promoting and social media. I used to bring in over $6000 sales per week for a company and yet, I find myself struggling to market myself.Of course I did research on this subject but there is just so much out there,... continue reading
Strasbourg is European Oriented City located at the Est of France, near the border of Germany.I was living in the region for more that 8 years before moving to a wet and rainy country in the North for a new job.Every year Strasbourg expected to receive millions visitors. For this reason the municipality organized more that 500 events, including the 30 meters high Christmas tree at the Kleber Place and 12 Christmas markets inside the City.Illuminations are everywhere... continue reading
Christmas in Berlin is a very magical time. I had always wanted to visit when they had the markets (around 60 throughout Berlin I believe) with their spiced wine, sausages and Gingerbread. This year I got my chance. Who could have thought that I could take so many photos in just 4 days. Granted many of them were of family members eating oversized wursts but I also have some for Dreamstime. So even though I still seem to be sorting through them and uploading I thought I would share some that have been... continue reading

I have often looked at people making collections and wondered if there was any merit in it so, I have decided to make my own.The big question has been what the collection should be about so I looked at my photos to see if I had favourite, sub-conscious DT subject. It turns out I have.Everytime I go travelling I seem to find myself down at the local marketplace with my camera taking pictures of the food or herbs and spices lined up in an orderly manner, in different colours and different flavours.... continue reading
Just like some people think that anyone with a decent camera can point, shoot, and create a great image, some photographers seem to think that great images should somehow sell themselves. It's true that sites like DT take a lot of the burden of marketing off our shoulders, but if there are a few simple things we can do to increase the exposure of our portfolio, why not do them? Here are my suggestions.1-Use social media well. This includes using the tools built into the various stock sites... continue reading
All this debate about Pinterest made me wonder about what this new social networks mean to our image marketing.Meanwhile we are terrified with the escalation of piracy and finding tons of cooyrights inflingements around the web, we wonder if this industry has a future or if we are on a sinking boat.I will start first analysing us compared to the audio and movie industry. The first major diference is the market.
