Yes, Milestone of 50 photos reached!! Exclusive or NOT?In less than a month, i reached the EXCLUSIVITY limit, and now here comes the Q: TO BE or NOT TO BE?I have to admit that at the beginning before a month, I was excited to reach that limit and apply for exclusive contributor, also when i speak about exclusive i don't have any doubts about Dreamstime. They are my FIRST CHOICE if i decide it.I know that the decision is mine, but because at DT i felt like "home" and that's because of you,... continue reading

I have recently been retrenched from my job after 23 years in the IT industry.I have gone for numerous job interviews but as yet have had no success in finding another job, this being due to age, job market congestion etc etc…As part of my retrenchment package I have been offered to study an additional course/s that will help me with job placement in the market. As I am well educated in my field already and my education has not helped me in my current trade market, I was considering doing something... continue reading
Three years ago, I was posting "3 Years Microstocking" by discussing about the changing market of (micro)stock photography. Have there been significant changes ever since? The end of year is often an excellent time to look back and think about what has happened, this time, in the still rapidly growing area, micro stock photography. When the big picture was extremely busy and crowded three years ago, it is somewhat clearer today in terms of who is still in the market; but, it might be not... continue reading

In March 2011 I published the first issue of Alberta Marketing Strategy Magazine. It is a short run (25,000 print copies) B2B print and web publication. The image in this article was used for the composite to show clients. When the client who was to be put on the cover saw this photograph he suggested that we just run with him - but he was only joking of course. Still, the advertisers loved this photograph. In Canada a guy like this fits the stereotype for a guy who knows how to get things done... continue reading
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say that since summer is here that there is a place that photographers have a great option for shooting. The Local Farmers MarketsSince most local farmers markets are only open seasonally this is a great way to see and shoot the artisan products.here are a couple of the random shots that I have taken at local marketsIf you are taking shots at the market it is generally a good rule to ask before you shoot since some vendors may get offended.... continue reading
Here's a short but true story of how online socializing can work to your advantage financially speaking. Fame is only a few clicks away.A regular Dreamstime image got to be virally famous, when filmmaker, actor and recently author, Albert Brooks tweeted yesterday:Here it is baby. Delete this DM the second you get it. I don't want anyone else to know http://ow.ly/5dlxj.It's perhaps a simple joke but one that got retweeted by hundreds of people (Albert currently has more... continue reading
In New Mexico your waiter will always ask "Red or Green?" ... you get the picture. How can you not smile when you see these luscious, just-picked cherries all in a row on a blue gingham table cloth! Viva la Farmer's Market!"Shipping is a terrible thing to do to vegetables. It's time for the Farmer's Market. One of my favorite places to photograph, I always look for a local outdoor market when I'm traveling. And when I'm home - you'll find me at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market from the end of May through the end of October. With artfully displayed local produce, lively conversation and wandering musicians, the market is a great place to capture microstock images ... and people watch!Quotes of the day:"Did you ever stop to taste a carrot? Not just eat it, but taste... continue reading
