Buyers and Sellers

I love to read the blogs from people around the world, who share a common love for photography.Photographers share their knowledge and their musings on just about everything. One thing I have noticed however, is that there are very few blogs and articles from the buyers.I wonder if they come to the blog section, or if they simply search for what they want and then log off until the next time they need an image.A sale in its purest form is an interaction between client and seller.... continue reading

Money from Junk

Hey guys I am back!! I am feeling really good while writing a blog again. Last few days have been sad as well as tiring for me. My uncle who was fighting cancer since last 3 years expired on 22nd April. It was a huge fight for us and a great loss for me. Since I was a child, I have grown up with my uncle more than my parents. I was quite devasted for the last month in hospitals and after his demise as well. I was planning to write a blog when I completed 2000 ‘approved uploads’ in here, but never... continue reading

Not only am I a Newbie to Dreamstime, but also to the micro-stock world. I have worked in the portrait photography industry for many years. I really thought about the question "Why would I want to work in the micro-stock industry?" I dove in on December 31, 2007. Here is my reason. The photography industry has changed a lot since digital photography was introduced years ago. It was met with resistance by many in my field, with the thought that there would still be a great demand for film and the... continue reading

Stocking or not stocking

For a newby, an amateur, a raw meat like me to suddenly read that some think we should not be selling our photos comes accross like... surprising. But they do, there are lots of very good artists saying I shouldn't be one because I don't sell my pictures 500 apiece. And at that moment I get off my verbal sword.I don't know if this is a subject in USA, but it is certainly a controversy here in Spain. A controversy which end result is already decided. This is like the tomatoes problem. Now tomatoes... continue reading

I think I sort of have the taking pictures part of the photo business down, but the business, i.e getting my name out there and getting hired, not so much.I am sort of at a loss for what to do...... i got myself a myspace page and plan on getting a facebook page. I have also set up blogs at live journal and blogger, which I have to start adding to.But does this really help? or are these just a giant waste of time?Would I do better with more... continue reading
