Hummingbirds in my yard

I love watching the birds out in the wild and decided yesterday, to make a huge go of it. So, I bought ample bird seed, finch food and sunflower food for the many birds that come in neighbor's yard.Hoping that I can attract as many birds as possible, I bought eight feeders and decided to give this a try. This would include I hope, to attract orioles, hummingbirds, various colorful finches, Oregon Junkos, jays, wrens, woodpeckers and whatever else might enjoy a good nutritious intake. Taking clear... continue reading

The Photographer’s Creative Process

For many photographers, the hardest part of a photographic project is settling on an idea. Fine art photography isn't so much about snapping as many photos as you can in the hope that you get the perfect shot. Instead, a good project takes lots of time, thought and research. Those three things are all part of the “creative process.” Want to learn more? I'll show you my basic creative process so that you can learn how to turn those half-formed ideas into works of art.It Starts with... continue reading

Worst timing ever

Here we are, middle of the summer and my social circles are just bursting with pups everywhere. On top of this we have one of the warmest summers in ages, with just enough clouds to give an interesting background as well as blur the light very now and then. So what do I do in all of this? I lie at home knocked out completely. Such a perfect time for my health to be unhealthy...I've barely been able to leave the house and lawn for two weeks, with great inconvenience for my dogs I might add... But... continue reading

A bug in the process... (finished...)

In my previous post I have mentioned an old house which we - me and my wife - have bought last year, hoping to renovate it into our dream home... Yes - plenty of work for already overloaded couple, but this kind of challenges are somehow extremely satisfying and even thou you lack sleep and your hands are aching from tools, you undertake next challenge just to feel like God, when you sip your well-deserved beer while looking at finished results of your own work...And another of such projects... continue reading

First Goal for 2014

Global Warming

In Siberia, where I live, the last years strongly felt "global warming" in winter and "ice age" in summer. Winter becomes warmer, temperature averaged only -10 on Celsius, whereas - 25 was the norm. Vice versa in the summer was cooler. It was raining all time and I couldn't wait for the Sun. "These are the pies!" as we say. continue reading

Drabble: Death in the Afternoon

‘I’ve downloaded the recipe, shall we?’‘Why not?’‘Hmm. “Pour one jigger into a champagne glass; add iced champagne until it has opalescent milkiness. Drink three to five of these slowly.” Shall we do as Hemingway says?’‘Yes. We should use saucer glasses, apparently modelled on Marie Antoinette’s breasts, did you know that?’‘We don’t have those. Flutes will have to do.’Dancing ladies, autumnal in the hearth, reflect the changing season and nature closes her day... continue reading

Where does it lead to?

A hypothetical question.150,000+ contributors , 19 million+ images online, every day, competition is getting tougher and tougher each day .Creativity needs to take a notch up of each day that pass by.Just like this imagetrying to come up with something interesting about humming birds in flight.I initially thought becoming a stock contributor back in 2006 and seen possible potential , but got busy with other priorities, sostock photography was put on the side. Regrets…regrets…... continue reading
